📚 Update on the New School Curriculum in Nigeria
There are some changes to the school curriculum this session.
Not much has been removed, but the number of subjects has been reduced — which is expected to ease the workload for both students and teachers.
Also, the departments for senior classes now have new names:
✨ Science remains Science
✨ Arts is now called Humanities
✨ Commercial has been renamed Business
✨ Plus, one core Technical Subject has been introduced.
The aim is to make learning more focused and relevant to today’s needs.
👉 Now, we’d love to hear from you:
Do you think reducing the number of subjects will make learning easier or limit students’ knowledge?
What do you think about renaming “Arts” to “Humanities” and “Commercial” to “Business”?
As a parent/teacher/student, how do you feel this new curriculum will affect education quality?
If you had the chance, what one subject would you add or remove from the curriculum?
Do you believe this change will help prepare Nigerian students better for future careers? Why or why not?
