Role Models or Not?

As women, we often look up to others for guidance, inspiration, and strength. But here is a thought: Are the people we call "role models" truly worthy of our admiration?

See, it is very easy to get caught up in social media highlights, fancy photos, and successful stories. But one thing we must ask ourselves is this, 'do these people represent the values and qualities that matter most to us as African women? Do they stand for integrity, hard work, and kindness? Or are we just admiring them because they seem to have it all?'

A true role model is someone who lifts others up, stays grounded, and leads with love. She is someone who is not afraid to show her flaws and teach us from her mistakes. She inspires us not just with her achievements, but also, with her character.

So, as you think about the women you look up to, ask yourself if they are showing you the real way to grow and if you so are learning to become a better version of yourself from them. Also, think about the persons looking up to you as role models... Are you living up to the name? Remember, to whom much is given, much is expected.

Let us choose role models who empower us, who reflect our culture and values, and who encourage us to be strong, confident, and compassionate women. We should also work towards been same to younger minds looking up to us, directly and indirectly.
