This is for Men of understanding

A thief stole the door of one of the shrines, and the villagers chased him.
They caught him and asked: "𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁?!"
He replied: "𝗛𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲."
They said: "𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱?!"
He replied: "𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱?"

‏سـرق لـ ـص باب أحد الأضرحة فطارده أهل القرية، فأمسكوا به وقالوا له:
لماذا سـ ـرقت باب ولينا !!؟
فقال: هو أعطاني الباب
قالوا:كيف يعطيك الباب وهو مـ ـيت !
فقال:فكيف تأتونه ليعطيكم الرزق والولد وهو مـ ـيت !

Even if you are better than your boss at anything, never upstage him. Restrain yourself. Let your boss shine. Don't outshine them. Instead, polish your boss to shine better, or they will get bitter. Because, it is human nature to feel threatened by anyone better than you. And it takes the grace of God to tolerate such people. You may have that grace. But your boss may not. So, to avoid disgrace, let them shine. Let them win. Laugh at their jokes. Compliment their fashion sense. Commend their decisions. Agree with them at meetings and only contradict them privately. It does not make you a sycophant. It makes you a diplomat. And diplomats get promoted. A boss that you commend will recommend you, too.
