After all said and done as regards the Presidential Election Tribunal Petition here is a breakdown of the petition so far.
Peter Obi and Labour Party filed their petition on 21st March, 2023 challenging the return of Tinubu and APC as the winner of the Presidential election by INEC. On 22nd March, 2023 Atiku Abubakar and PDP filed their own petition also challenging same. Both filed within the 21 statutory days provided by Electoral Act, 2022.
Tinubu and APC filed their response together with their preliminary objections on 11th April, 2023 while INEC also filed their own preliminary objections on the same date which is exactly 21 statutory days provided by Electoral act, 2022.
Peter Obi and LP, Atiku Abubakar and PDP filed their reply to the preliminary objections on 25th April, 2023 which is exactly 14 statutory days provided by Electoral act, 2022.
All parties have filed and exchanged pleadings, the petition is now set down for it to commence and the days are 10th, 12th and 13th May, 2023. Subsequent days will be added by the Petition Tribunal as the petition progresses. More details coming your way.
