We agreed you’ll drink 2 litres of water every day 😭

So how far today?

07/05/2026

For the past 30 days, Nigerian mums have shared these posts, sent late-night DMs, tagged their friends, and said, “This is exactly how I feel.” Honestly, that means more to us than you know.

So to celebrate 30 days of talking about the parts of motherhood people usually keep to themselves, everything at 5StarMums Store is 20% off for the next 48 hours.

Use the code MUMS20 at checkout.

If there is something you have been eyeing since Day 1, this is your sign to finally get it.

You deserve support too.

Everything is in the link in bio.

Nobody told us these things before we became mums, so we are telling you now.

1. People will come to see the baby. Very few people will even ask how the mother is doing.

2. After delivery, everybody will flood your house. Then one day, without warning, you will be completely on your own.

3. Once you give birth, everybody becomes an expert. People who have never even carried a baby before will start advising you.

4. Breastfeeding is not always sweet like Instagram. Sometimes it is pain, confusion, frustration, and tears.

5. Lack of sleep will make you snap at small things, forget things, and feel like your brain has stopped working.

6. Your husband may start acting like everything is normal again faster than you, and it can cause wahala at home because you are still adjusting.

7. That six-week checkup does not mean you are fine. Many women are still exhausted, emotional, and not themselves months after giving birth.

8. Going back to work after maternity leave can hit you like a wall, even if you genuinely love your job and missed it.

9. Many women are expected to behave like they don't have children at work, and behave like they don't have jobs at home.

10. If you keep doing everything alone and pretending you are fine, one day it will just catch up with you.

Save this and send it to a pregnant woman you know. She will understand it better later.
