LAGBAJA: THE FACE BEHIND THE MASK UNMASKED
Bisade Ologunde, known as Lagbaja, is a Nigerian musician born in Lagos in 1960. He is famous for wearing a mask that represents anonymity and symbolizes the common man.

Lagbaja’s music combines traditional Yoruba sounds with jazz. It features Yoruba percussion, drums, chants, and Western instruments like the saxophone. His lyrics are mainly in Yoruba, English, or a mix of both.
In March 1997, Lagbaja opened a club called Motherland in Ikeja, Lagos. The design of Motherland reflects traditional African village squares, creating a peaceful space among trees.

Lagbaja performs at Motherland every last Friday of the month. He often invites guest artists and comedians. His songs talk about social issues and include "Coolu Temper," "200 Million Mumu," "Paradise," "Konko Below," and "Omo Jayejaye."
He is a well-known figure in contemporary African music, blending traditional elements with modern style.
