✝️ The Reasons for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ
The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus will come again—and His second coming has powerful purposes. Here are the key reasons:
1. To Take Believers to Himself (The Rapture)
👉 John 14:3
“I will come again, and receive you unto myself…”
👉 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
“…the dead in Christ shall rise… then we which are alive… shall be caught up… to meet the Lord…”
Meaning:
Jesus is coming to gather His people
Believers will be united with Him forever

Meaning:
Jesus will bring justice
Every person will give account
Evil will not go unpunished
3. To Reward the Faithful

“Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me…”
👉 2 Timothy 4:8
“…a crown of righteousness… unto all them also that love his appearing.”
Meaning:
Believers will receive:
Crowns
Rewards
Faithfulness on earth will be honored in eternity
4. To Defeat Evil Completely
👉 Revelation 19:11–16
Jesus returns as a conquering King
👉 2 Thessalonians 2:8
“…the Lord shall consume [the wicked one] with the spirit of his mouth…”
Meaning:
Satan and all evil powers will be finally destroyed
Jesus will establish total victory
5. To Establish His Kingdom on Earth
👉 Revelation 11:15
“…the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord…”
👉 Matthew 25:31
“When the Son of man shall come in his glory… then shall he sit upon the throne…”
Meaning:
Jesus will reign as King
His kingdom will be:
Righteous
Peaceful
Everlasting
6. To Fulfill God’s Final Plan
👉 2 Peter 3:13
“We… look for new heavens and a new earth…”
👉 Revelation 21:4
“God shall wipe away all tears…”
Meaning:
The second coming leads to:
A new heaven and new earth
No more pain, death, or sorrow
