Sunday Message Excerpts
Theme: JOY COMETH (Part 2)
Text: Psalms 30:5
God has plans for everything. Nothing happens by accident in the agenda of God. That is why there is time and season for everything. (Eccl 3:1-8).
Bible say in Job 30:5, ‘For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning’.
Therefore in the school of the bible, night time is the season of weeping, time when the wicked plot wickedness Matt 13:25. Thank God, the period of weeping is over. Therefore joy cometh.
We already enunciated two points in the previous message, therefore we will continue from there.
3) Weeping comes as a forerunner of joy. That is why:
- Weeping comes before joy
- Pain comes before gain
- Examination comes before promotion
- Trial comes before testimony
- Mockery comes before miracle
- Failure comes before success – (Lk 5:1-10)
There are times you pass through miserable to acquire desirable.
Bible says, in this world you will face tribulations John 16:33, Dan 3:1-30, Dan 6:1-28, 2 Kings 4:1-7
4) Weeping attracts God’s attention – Ps 34:15,17-18, Ps 10:18, Ps 145:18-19
* The wife of the sons of the prophets cried to God through prophet Elisha and got divine intervention (2 Kings 4:1-7)
* Hannah cried to God at Shiloh and became mother of children – 1 Sam 1:9-10
* The children of Israel cried to God in Egypt, God heard their voice and sent Moses to deliver them – Ex 3:7&8.
It is important to beware of who you cry to. Some cry to their parents, while some cry to relatives, or friends, colleagues, or government for help yet they are disappointed. Man may promise but fail, give you napkin to wipe your tears but it may not cease the flow of tears. It is a curse to put your trust in man – Jer 17:5. But God will dry the tears and help you out of the situation – Rev 21:4
Rather put your trust in God like Hannah and others.
Jesus is our Advocate - Ps 121:1
He is the present help in trouble – Ps 46:1
He is the Helper of the helpless – Isa 41:10, 13
What is it that causes you to weep?
Did you fail an examination?
Did you fail in business?
Did you suffer disappointment?
Did you lose something or someone precious?
Are you experiencing paucity of finance?
Are you having challenges in marriage?
Are you sick, lonely, rejected or depressed?
Is yours delayed marriage or fruitfulness?
Look up to Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of our faith He will end your weeping and command joy into your life. Amen
