I saw Wedding Party and went, “Oh cute!”
Then I watched King of Boys and shouted, “BRILLIANT!”
That’s when I said, hold up—who is this genius behind the scenes? Enter: KEMI ADETIBA — whatever creative juice she’s sipping, I need a gallon, because whew!
Sis doesn’t just make movies, she plays emotional piano on your soul.
Now let’s talk about this rollercoaster called To Kill a Monkey 🐒💔
First of all, Oboz was fighting for his life… literally. Only to find out the person he was protecting was the one holding the knife. That betrayal? Cold. Ice cold. ❄️
But let’s not ignore Efemini, aka Mr. Life-Has-Done-Me-Dirty. The guy gave up everything—his peace, his principles, his pockets—for his family. And what did he get? Backstabbed, front-stabbed, and side-eye from karma. Even his brother did the unspeakable with his daughter. (If someone did that to me, we’re fighting every time we breathe.)
All Efemini wanted was a way out of the mess he was born into. Poverty? Gave him PTSD. Love? Gave him migraines. And loyalty? That one just laughed in his face.
The film dives into everything—poverty, love, betrayal, brotherhood, and the chaos of trying to stay sane in Nigeria with a conscience and N200 in your account.
🎥 Cinematography? Crisp.
🎭 Acting? Fire.
📖 Storyline? Solid.
😱 Suspense? I held my breath multiple times.
Oboz? Carried that role like rent was due.
Efemini? Whew. That man’s pain reached me in my chest.
