ENDOMETRITIS : Is a condition that causes inflammation of the lining of a woman's uterus(Endometrum) .
Uterus ; or womb , is a major reproductive organ in the woman consisting of a body and a cervix, and is where the fetus develop during pregnancy.
What Cause Endometritis.
Chlamydia , Gonnorrhea, TB and infections resulting from the mix of normal va**na bacterial.
Endometritis is usually not serious, it will go away when treated with antibiotics.
Untreated infection can lead to complications with reproductive organ, problems of infertility
Endometritis is most likely to occur after miscarriage, child birth especially after a long labour or cesarean delivery.
Risk Factors
1) Miscarriage
2)Child birth
3) Medical procedure which involves entering the uterus through the cervix such as (a) IUD (b) Uterine scrapping (D&C)
How Is Endometritis Diagnosed
1) Taking samples (culture) from the cervix to test for infectious agents such as Gonnorrhea or Chlamydia.
2) Removing a small amount of tissue ( biospy) from the lining of the Uterus
3) Laparoscopy
4)Pap smear.
5) ESR and WBC count ( levels are elevated)
Complication
1) infertility
2)Pelvic peritonitis ( general pelvic infection)
3) Collection of pus ( abscess in pelvic or Uterus.
4) Septic shock
5) Septicemia
STIs : Are s*xually Transmitted infections. This infections spreads during s*xual in*******se with someone who already has the infection. STIs include the followings:
Chlamydia ; is a bacterial infection of your ge***al tract. Chlamydia may be difficult to detect because early-stage infections often cause few or no signs and symptoms. When they do occur, symptoms usually start one to three weeks after you've been exposed to chlamydia and may be mild and pass quickly.
Signs and symptoms may include:
Painful urination
Lower abdominal pain
Vaginal discharge in women
Discharge from the p***s in men
Pain during s*xual in*******se in women
Bleeding between periods in women
Testicular pain in men
Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection of your ge***al tract. The bacteria can also grow in your mouth, throat, eyes and a**s. The first gonorrhea symptoms generally appear within 10 days after exposure. However, some people may be infected for months before signs or symptoms occur.
Signs and symptoms of gonorrhea may include:
Thick, cloudy or bloody discharge from the p***s or va**na
Pain or burning sensation when urinating
Heavy menstrual bleeding or bleeding between periods
Painful, swollen testicles
Painful bowel movements
A**l itching
Trichomoniasis is a common STI . The organism usually infects the urinary tract in men, but often causes no symptoms. Trichomoniasis typically infects the va**na in women. When trichomoniasis causes symptoms, they may appear within five to 28 days of exposure and range from mild irritation to severe inflammation.
Signs and symptoms may include:
Clear, white, greenish or yellowish va**nal discharge
Discharge from the p***s
Strong va**nal odor
Vaginal itching or irritation
Itching or irritation inside the p***s
Pain during s*xual in*******se
Painful urination
HIV is an infection with the human immunodeficiency virus. HIV interferes with your body's ability to fight off viruses, bacteria and fungi that cause illness, and it can lead to AIDS..
Others include: Syphilis. HPV , Herpes, and Hepatitis
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a medical condition in which high blood pressure affects the arteries of the lungs and the right ventricle of the heart. To reduce the chance of right heart failure and death, PH must be treated promptly. While there are medications available to treat PH, in some cases surgery is required. There are several surgical options that may be recommended depending on the type of PH and the stage of heart disease.
Atrial Septostomy
For one form of PH known as pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a surgical procedure called atrial septostomy may be recommended in severe cases. In this procedure, a surgeon uses a catheter to make a hole in the wall between the left and right sides of the heart. Blood can pass through the hole from the right side of the heart to the left side, thereby relieving pressure on the right side of the heart.
When Do Doctors Recommend Atrial Septostomy?
Idiopathic PAH, which occurs due to an unknown cause, may not respond well to other treatments and can progress to right heart failure. The atrial septostomy procedure may be recommended for people in such severe cases. The procedure may also be an option for those who cannot receive a lung transplant.
Outcomes of Atrial Septostomy
Because the procedure is only performed rarely in severe cases, the impact of atrial septostomy on survival is not well understood. It is not a cure, but rather is used to treat symptoms of PAH. There are risks to the procedure, so it should be performed only when the benefits outweigh the risks.
Pulmonary Endarterectomy
Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA), also called pulmonary thromboendarterectomy, is a surgery used to treat a form of PH called chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). CTEPH is caused by large blood clots in the pulmonary arteries of the lungs, often the result of a pulmonary embolism.
PEA is used to remove those blood clots and restore blood flow. During the procedure, a heart-lung machine (or cardiopulmonary
