What does mean to you? Leading - I guess.
What does it mean to lead? How do you lead? What does it entail to lead?
These are the things that make you a good leader; How you lead the people and how the people perceive your leadership.
Some will argue that a good leader can be perceived otherwise by the people but I believe that it is a function of your decision timing as well as your communication ability.
A good leader can take a good decision at the wrong time and send a wrong signal to the people he is leading.
This is where Emotional Intelligence kicks in. A good leader should be able to read the mood in the room then take decision on whether to proceed with a planned action or not.
A good leader should also be able to convey the intentions and gains of any action that needs to be taken at anytime to the people he is leading. This will make the people key into any decision or action you have chosen at any time.
So to be a good leader, you need to be emotionally intelligent and a great communicator. Do not ever underestimate the power of Communication. in can make or mar your administration.
