Sadly in the past, most challenges revolving around them were relegated and the results were not palatable.

Have finally satisfied my curiosity about the relationship between the items in the three pictures.
The first time I ever heard or read about Easter eggs was in books, because it’s not common amongst us.
What matters to us about Easter is to follow through the church activities and finally open up our tummies to the delicious rice and other accompanying mouth watering dishes on Easter Sunday😋😋
Well now am surrounded by what I read in books and saw in cartoons so I had to find out the correlation.
Eggs were said to represent new life and rebirth. And the ancient people those days gave each other eggs at spring festivals to celebrate the new season. However eating eggs during Lent was forbidden, so on Easter Sunday it was a great treat to be relished.
There was also a superstitious belief that eggs laid on Good Friday turned to diamonds if kept for 100 years.
Some also believed that eggs cooked on Good Friday and eaten on Easter Sunday improved fertility and prevented sudden death, so the people made it a point of duty to have their eggs blessed before eating them.
Hot cross buns is said to represent the cross Jesus was crucified on, and some believed the spices used to make the snack represented the spices used to embalm Christ body. It was common practice to share hot cross buns amongst the poor during Easter.
The Easter bunny though not directly related to Jesus, represented the ushering of the Spring season, rebirth and new life as it reproduces at a large rate. It has been incorporated into Easter as well because the resurrection symbolises new life, and the bunny represents fertility and new life as well.
How are you spending your Good Friday?

I was once told that I should be mindful of dressing well while going to the market, reason being that the marketers may assume that I’m well to do and so hike the price of their goods.
I have always wondered why goods sold in our open markets cannot have one price whereby the buyer comes, pays the amount without “how much last” and “you no sell this price” , “I don buy am this price before oo” and all that hassling.
Going to the local market back home have always been one of my worst chores and it’s for this reason above. I will always feel like I didn’t bargain well so I end up going round and round. It’s even more disheartening that I may still end up buying at a particular amount and still hear that someone bought it far cheaper at same place, maybe at a different time.
Wouldn’t life be easier for both buyers and sellers if the price of goods were static, only changed when things like inflation or other inevitable things to play? Just like we have it in the malls and supermarkets and boutiques?
Why must either seller or buyer be outsmarted at each transaction?
I really want to know the reason behind this our traditional method of back and forth dragging of price because it makes shopping quite tedious and time consuming.
What am I even saying, some people will leave Naija if ever that method of marketing is abolished 😂😂
And finally, for you who keep supporting and defending a daylight criminal act in the name of “mysterious”
Just sit and ponder for a while:
Somewhere right now, a young girl is been abducted and held against her will and incessantly r***d at random in order for her to get pregnant, so that the cryptic pregnant woman can pay huge sums of money.
Somewhere a young girl has been delivered of a baby for which she conceived via r**e, now that baby has been snatched away from her, never to set eyes on the baby again.
This girl has been given a paltry sum of money, not upto 1/10th of what was charged the cryptic pregnant woman, and she’s been told to run away and never return to that vicinity.
She is further being threatened that if she says anything about what happened to any legal authority, she will meet worse fate than which had already befallen her.
That girl, that young girl, could be anybody, it could be your sister, niece, daughter, aunt or a distant relative.
We will continue to let sleeping dogs lie, until that dog wakes up …….what do I know kwanu?

A close acquaintance was recently bereaved of a little tender one, so painful it was.
She said something in one of my visits to her, that everyone who visited to console her, had one or more bitter memories of how unfair life was.
She was surprised that no matter how happy, fulfilled and joyous one looked or appeared to look, it was almost a shock to hear one or two ways in which life had treated them badly.
We talked about it further before looking for what to distract ourselves with.
You see, life doesn’t know it’s being fair or unfair to anyone. It simply knows that it is running its course, because the good, the bad and the ugly make up the sands of the pathway called life.
Unfortunately for us who thread on those sands, we can’t stoop down to choose which sand to walk on. We just continue to walk it through.
While some have mastered this and are determined to keep their peace no matter what, there are still some who are yet to understand this and so keep chasing the peace around.
There are people down in history who have been known to have a rather difficult and challenging lives, yet they are fondly remembered by the good works they did irrespective of what life threw at them. In same vein, there are those who would be tagged as having had the best life could offer, yet posterity only holds the worst memories of them.
I have come to the discernment that life is neither being fair or unfair, dishing good luck or bad luck. Life, in all its essence, is only running its course.
A hard pill to swallow I must say. Don’t we all wish we had someone actually called life somewhere so we can put our foot down and demand to be treated fairly and given all we want?

Praying for someone is an underrated form of generosity and love.
It’s like giving alms without the knowledge of the reciever.
Consider the hustle and bustle of the day, different engagements here and there, so much to think, plan and execute.
Not to mention one’s own numerous prayer points that seems endless.
Even phone to press and social media to binge on, yet in the midst of it all, someone dedicates a moment, be it a minute, or several of them, up to hours or more, just to lift another in prayer.
It’s undiluted love.
We may not all have material things to show love at every point in time, distance can also be a barrier for physical contact, but prayer goes over and beyond.
Prayer for someone today.
