Oil prices have already started falling after the announcement of a US-Iran peace deal and plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil routes

Fuel pr!ces don't work that way
The fu£l currently being sold in Nigeria was not bought today
Most of it was purchased when oil pr!ces were much higher

Importers, marketers and refineries still have existing stock to clear before any major reduction can reflect at fi||ing stations

Then there is transportation, exchange rate, distribution costs and other factors that also affect pump pr!ces

So while lower global oil pr!ces are definitely good news, expecting an immediate return to the old fue| prices may be unrealistic

In fact, some analysts are already warning that even if the Strait of Hormuz fully reopens, it could still take months for supply chains and energy markets to normalize completely
