Know who you’re dating. Study the heart, not the hype. Build a bond before sharing a bed. Date slow, dig deep. Don’t let culture rush you. S*x is not a handshake—it’s a soul exchange.

I genuinely wish I could agree with this, but I’m afraid I CAN’T.
You see, every person you build a relationship with is grouped under what we call GATEKEEPERS. That is, every relationship you enter falls under a category—each one opening, guarding, or refining a gate in your life.

Not everyone will take you to the altar or the bank—and that’s okay. Some people are positioned in your life to help shape you in other powerful ways:

• Moral Gatekeepers – They teach you values, refine your sense of right and wrong, and raise the standard for how you see yourself and others.

• Intellectual Gatekeepers – They challenge your thinking, sharpen your decision-making, and stretch your mental capacity—so you don’t choose wrongly when it truly matters.

• Emotional Gatekeepers – They reveal your emotional strengths and weaknesses, helping you confront what you often ignore.

• Financial Gatekeepers – They expose you to better money habits—or teach you, through painful lessons, what financial recklessness looks like.

• S*xual Gatekeepers – They awaken your awareness of your body, desires, and boundaries—not necessarily for their gain, but to prepare you for your rightful partner.

• Spiritual Gatekeepers – They either draw you closer to God or push you to rediscover your spiritual footing.

• Social Gatekeepers – They connect you to networks and circles that shape your visibility, access, and future opportunities.

The truth is: not every gate is meant to be lived at. Some are only meant to be passed through.

So no, not every relationship must end with a wedding ring or a fat bank account. Some relationships exist solely to groom you, prune you, polish you, or position you.

The goal is not to be bitter about these roles—but to recognize when it’s time to move from one gate to another without overstaying where you were only meant to pass through.
