We want to talk about something today that we hear from parents all the time.

"My child just finished BECE. They need to rest. I don't want to stress them with classes during the holidays."

We hear you. And honestly? You are not wrong.

Your child worked hard. They deserve to breathe, sleep in, watch TV, and just be a child for a bit. We completely agree with that.

What is the cost of too much rest? 🤔

Here is what we have seen happen, not once, not twice, but consistently, year after year, with SS1 students across Lagos.

Student A spends the entire holiday resting. No structure, no revision, no preparation. They resume in September feeling refreshed, but within 2 weeks of SS1, the panic sets in. The topics are unfamiliar. The pace is fast. The teacher doesn't slow down. And by the end of the first term, Student A is already behind, stressed, confused, and losing confidence fast.

Student B takes the first 2 weeks of holiday to rest fully, then spends 4 weeks in August doing targeted, structured preparation with SmartMaths Academy. They resume in September relaxed and ready.
