For whatever it is worth - and indeed it is worth a whole lot - the African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCFTA is about one of the most notable developments in the pan-African socio-economic sphere in recent years. We welcome it but we also welcome your ideas on how to make it work because the first thing that strikes us now about is: we will be shooting ourselves in the foot to leave it to the exclusive whims and dictates of the Assembly of Heads of States of the African Union. For AfCFTA to thrive, the African people must own it. And this, in our view also includes Africans in the Diaspora.
