Through reconstructed archival paintings, Gbebire documents the women of Isalẹ̀ Èkó, whose labour sustains Yoruba fashion and celebratory culture. By incorporating inscriptions, fading textures, and signs of decay, her works preserve the untold stories of traders who have shaped owàmbẹ̀ culture, while acknowledging the passage of time and the disappearance of those who came before.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, January 10, from 2–6pm at Rele, Lagos.

We welcomed dignitaries from the state, as well as other special guests.
