It is our opinion that Nigerian men should pay their housewives for work that is done within their households for its members. And if the reverse is the case, the bread-winning wives should pay their "househusbands".

According to the United Nations (UN) ๐บ๐‘’๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ ๐‘‡๐‘–๐‘š๐‘’-๐‘ˆ๐‘ ๐‘’ Report (2018), African men spent an average of one hour 23 minutes daily on domestic chores, while women spent four hours 35 minutes.

Any time women spend in excess of what men spend doing unpaid care work should be remunerated. That means housewives should be paid wages for the three hours 12 minutes doing housework.
