Exactly 25yrs today, Group Captain Samuel Ethnan was called to glory but the reflection of his impact is still evident in Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, Ikeja till date🕊️
Although late Group Captain Sam Ethnan was Commander, NAF Base Ikeja for only 10 months, he is the only distinguished officer that a Nigerian Air Force base is named after, a true hero. Here are some the exceptional things he did during his short period👇🏼
- Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, Ikeja won the neatest base in Africa during his tenure
- He switched occupants of dirty houses/blocks with the clean ones to enforce neatness. That why they called him “Commander pack-out”
- Introduced flower planting to beautify the base
- He established the Oputa Committee to resolve family disputes
- Ensured that there are round-abouts close to the Base and police station along Murtala Muhammed Airports road
- Gave gifts to new born babies of airmen
Group Captain Sam Ethnan stood for honor, discipline and unwavering service. As you can see, his impact continues to echo through the lives he touched, the community he served and the nation he helped defend 💪
As part of our Variety Night today, there will be a heartfelt Open Mic Session in memory of late Group Captain Sam Ethnan; a space for tributes, soulful songs, powerful poetry/spoken word, energetic rap presentations, etc 🕯️🤩
