₦11.89 TRILLION BORROWED: WHERE DID THE MONEY GO?

According to reports based on the Budget Office's 2025 budget implementation figures, the Federal Government received about ₦11.89 trillion in debt financing within the first nine months of the year, while about ₦3.1 trillion was spent on capital projects.

That raises some important and critical questions.

If only about 26% of the borrowed funds went into capital expenditure during that period, what accounted for the rest? Was it debt servicing, recurrent expenditure, security spending, social programmes, other budget obligations or to saved for a return to the VIILLA?

Borrowing is not necessarily the problem. Every government borrows. The real issue is transparency, accountability, and whether citizens can clearly see the impact of that borrowing on their daily lives.
What do you think?

Are we seeing the impact or we are suffering?

Should the government provide a more detailed breakdown of how borrowed funds are utilized?

Let’s talk about the xenophobic attacks in South Africa…

Again, South Africans are protesting, shouting that Nigerians must leave. The insults? Calling Nigerians “prostitutes.”
Let me stop you right there.

1. Who are the real prostitutes?
Statistics say Nigeria has a slightly higher prevalence (36.4% vs 34.5% in SA). But here’s what the U.S. State Department reported: Nigerian trafficking syndicates in SA use voodoo rituals to coerce victims – including South African children. So if we’re pointing fingers, let’s talk about who is the victim and who is the exploiter. Painting all Nigerians with that brush is pure hate, not facts.

2. South Africans live freely in Nigeria.
They run businesses, work in banks, worship, and raise families here. No one is attacking them. No one is telling them to pack their bags.

3. Who owns MTN?
MTN Nigeria is 76% owned by MTN Group – a South African company. And DStv? Also South African.
Now ask yourself: Should Nigeria send them packing too?

Senator Oshiomhole already suggested revoking MTN’s license and kicking out SA-owned companies. Would that solve anything? No. It would hurt innocent Nigerian workers and start a trade war nobody wins.

The real solution?

 Prosecute the attackers (Nigeria is demanding this)
 Stop blanket hatred – most South Africans aren’t xenophobic
 Use diplomacy, not revenge
 Fix unemployment and governance issues driving illegal migration

Bottom line: Xenophobic violence is a betrayal of African unity. We fought apartheid together. Now we’re tearing each other apart over lies and stereotypes.

Nigerians aren’t leaving. South Africans shouldn’t either. Let’s call out the criminals – not entire nations.

What do you think? Should Nigeria retaliate against MTN and DStv?

In Nigeria, wonders shall never end. Just because he has to win the election at all cost. Read this.

Former APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, has raised serious concerns over alleged plots against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, while also demanding the immediate release of businessman Tunde Ayeni.

Frank accused some government and security officials of selective prosecution, political intimidation, and misuse of state institutions against opposition figures.
He warned that such actions could damage public trust in democracy, weaken election credibility, and increase political tension in Nigeria.

He also called on the international community, including the United States and global human rights organizations, to closely monitor developments in the country.
According to Frank, the fight against corruption must remain fair, transparent, and free from political witch-hunts.

What are your thoughts on these allegations and the state of Nigeria’s democracy?
