Winning youth matches is satisfying.
Developing players who still love football at 18 is much harder.
Too often, adults celebrate the scoreboard while forgetting the real objective. A child who wins every weekend but never learns to think, create, or solve problems may struggle later when the game becomes more demanding.
The best youth coaches don't just prepare children for Saturday's match.
They prepare them for the next 10 years.
Maybe that's why Arsène Wenger believed:
"The first idea is not to win the game. The first idea is to develop the player."
