The ongoing scholarly discussion between Prof. Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari and Prof. Umar Sani Rijiyar Lemu has drawn significant attention. After watching their exchanges, I noticed a clear difference in their approach. Prof. Maqari responded with deep respect, supporting his points with scholarly references.

On the other hand, Prof. Sani found it difficult to acknowledge his misstatement, that rejecting a Hadith equates to rejecting the Quran. Despite clear explanations, he hesitated to accept correction.

I encourage his students to recognize that no scholar is infallible. True knowledge comes from humility and willingness to correct errors. Defending a mistake does not serve the truth. Instead, we should strive for sincerity in seeking knowledge.

To Sheikh Sani, I sincerely advise that he reflect on Prof. Maqari’s explanations and prioritize truth over pride. May Allah guide us all to accept the truth, regardless of its source.
