When sound signal hit a building hard surfaces, the following reaction takes place:

1. Transmission of sound takes place through the surface
2. Absorption of sound by the surface
3. Reflection of sound properties also takes place

All these three points mentioned above takes place simultaneously in the building.

The amount of transmission, absorption and reflection of sound properties into the building surface depends on the material used on the building surface.
