🚨 WAEC DRAMA 2025 – From Tears to Celebration in 6 Days! 🚨

Last week, thousands of Nigerian students were in shock. The West African Examination Council (WAEC) had just dropped the 2025 WASSCE results β€” and the news was heartbreaking:

Only 38% of candidates passed with 5 credits, including English and Maths.
Parents were weeping. Teachers were confused. Dreams were shattered. πŸ’”

But something wasn’t right… πŸ€”

πŸ“Œ The Twist:
A few days later, WAEC quietly admitted there had been a massive marking error caused by a wrong serialisation code in the English Language Objective paper.
This tiny technical mistake didn’t just affect English β€” it shook results in subjects like Maths, Biology, and Economics.

WAEC hit the brakes. 🚫
Results were taken offline.
Students waited in fear.

Then… the big comeback happened. πŸŽ‰

βœ… Corrected results were released β€” and BOOM! Pass rate jumped from 38% to 62% overnight.
βœ… Over 1.2 million candidates suddenly had the credits they needed for admission.
βœ… Some students saw grades rise from D7 to C4 or C6 β€” opening university doors they thought had slammed shut.

πŸ’¬ Reactions poured in:

Some praised WAEC for owning up and fixing the mess.

Others called it a β€œnational disaster” and demanded investigations.

For many families, it was an emotional rollercoaster β€” from heartbreak to pure relief in less than a week.

Now, WAEC says digital certificates will be ready 48 hours after rechecking on www.waecdirect.org. They also promised Computer-Based Testing from 2026 to avoid mistakes like this again.

πŸ“’ Lesson? In life β€” and in exams β€” sometimes the story isn’t over when you think it is. πŸ’ͺ

"NO BILLIONAIRE MADE IT THROUGH SALARY"

Let me challenge that statement.

When you say "through salary," you are referring to a process β€” a journey. And if that is the case, I can confidently mention a few Nigerian billionaires who were once employees and earned a salary before building empires.

So instead of saying "No billionaire made it through salary," I believe it should be, "No billionaire made it with salary" or "by salary alone."

There is a big difference.

Most of the billionaires we celebrate today started by working under someone else.
They earned a salary.
They gathered experience.
They saved.
They learned.
And then, they launched.

Let me give you a few names:

1. Aliko Dangote worked in his uncle’s business before starting his own.
2. Mike Adenuga taught as a lecturer and later worked in the oil sector.
3. Folorunsho Alakija started her career in banking before going into fashion and later oil.
4. Tony Elumelu built his career in banking, rose to become the CEO of Standard Trust Bank before leading UBA.
5. Jim Ovia worked at Union Bank before founding Zenith Bank.
6. Orji Uzor Kalu was once a salesperson in a furniture store.
7. Abdulsamad Rabiu started out in the family business before creating his own conglomerate.

So yes, many billionaires did not remain employees, but they sure started as employees. Their salaries did not make them billionaires, but it was a part of the process.

That is why I believe there is no need to tear down one path just to glorify another.

You can talk about the power of entrepreneurship without dragging people who chose to earn a salary.

There is no shame in employment. Many business owners today were once employees.
It is not a competition. It is a journey.
And everyone’s path is valid.

So next time, instead of saying, "No billionaire made it through salary," say, "To become a billionaire, you will eventually need to own something, a business, a brand, or a bold idea."

I am obsessed with positivity.

I speak life, not comparison.

Let us inspire without shaming others.

So if you have the opportunity to get a job please grap it.
