The political landscape of Ibagun Ward witnessed a major shift today as the former SDP Women Leader Alhaja Ramat Olaide Alake officially decamped, aligned and re-united with the All Progressives Congress (APC), bringing along her entire political structure. The declaration, made during the official welcoming ceremony in ibagun ward in the presence of party leaders, stakeholders, and thousands of party members, this further strengthens the APC’s base in Ilorin East.

Party leaders described the development as a testament to the growing confidence in the party’s leadership and policy direction and developmental stride of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq in the state.

The mass defection shook the ward as supporters trooped out to show solidarity, marking one of the most dramatic political realignments in IBAGU Ward since return to democratic rule in 1999.

However, Daily Alert can authoritatively report and quoted the party chairman in the ward, Mr Abdulrauf Adebayo Adanla and the party secretary Mr Sheu Saka Olayinka "this move signals a new chapter of political strength and renewed dominance for APC in the ward".

The atmosphere in Ibagun Ward was filled with excitement as supporters witnessed a historic defection from SDP and PDP that further boosts APC’s influence in the ward.

Finally, Kwara State Commissioner for Work, Hon, Abdulqowiy Olododo, described this move as *"strategic realignment highlights, the growing momentum and widening acceptance of the party in the State"*.
