The U.S. has reversed the visa processing freeze for Nigerian doctors and others due to a shortage of medical professionals.
Applications for physicians are now being processed again, allowing them to:
Obtain visas and renew visas and continue to work in the USA .
Reports also specifically confirm that Nigerian doctors are included in those who can now apply and renew visas again.
This is not a full removal of the broader visa restrictions on Nigeria.
The easing is targeted mainly at doctors and medical professionals because the U.S. needs them.
