HOW TO MAKE BLACK BUTTERCREAM IN LESS THAN 10 HOURS
I'm making this post in response to the numerous questions, I have encountered on various cake groups about black buttercream.
Most of the responses suggest using cocoa powder and leaving to rest for 24 hours, or using brown colour before the black and leaving to rest for the same 24 hours. But then, what if, it's an urgent cake?
This is where I come in. It's actually very simple and foolproof. All you need are:
White buttercream (Shorteningcream)
Black food colour of your choice (I use Acabado)
Mixing bowl and
Spatula or your thoroughly washed hands.
Procedure:
1. Add some black color to your white buttercream and mix until thoroughly combined.
2. Mix for another 2 minutes and cover. Set aside to develop in a warm place for 30 minutes.
3. Uncover and mix for another 2 minutes, then cover and allow to rest for another 30 minutes.
4. Repeat step 3 until you get your desired colour.
NB. The buttercream will be ash/gray coloured at the beginning but it will deepen. Don't add any extra color, once you get the deep ash colour.
Your black buttercream will be ready in less than 10 hours. You can now add your milk, water or whatever you use in your buttercream for texture and flavor.
