THE PROPHESY

They both walked hand in hand, each with their own thoughts.

Both happy to see each other

Grateful for the picnic kind off get together

They and their classmate had planned..

They were walking around the beach when a young fulani girl had crossed their path and begged for alms.

Seye was skeptic about giving (she had heard rumours about them being diabolic)

Bola was willing to give but she wasn't with her purse. She had dropped her purse with her husband before taking a walk with her long lost friend (seye)

She rummage through her inner pocket and found a 50 Naira note, she happily offered it to the young girl who accepted it happily.

They were about leaving when Biola's husband ran past them on a horse.

He looked back eyeing his beautiful wife and her friend, seye and the young stranger.

The little fulani called out at Seye, she was startled (what more does she want?) is the 50 Naira not enough.. She thought further before answering her.

Aunty ... Aunty.... Nah your husband be that.

Nah your husband dey on top horse.

You and that man... Love, Marry and Born.

Seye corrected her saying.... That is my friends husband, so that can never be my husband. Can you hear?

I know wetin I dey talk.. I... See... future.

Nah your husband be that.

Your friend she do small, he leave her, he marry you.

Bola was mad with rage, what does this little girl mean?

How dare she?

It's not your fault, nah me wey give you 50 Naira do mistake..

She said, hissed and walked away.

Seye was torn between believing a crazy prophesy and thinking about the prophesy itself...

Time soon washed over them like the waves on the beach...

They forgot their differences and became closer than before.

Bola was heavy and almost due for delivery...

She had requested for the presence of her friend during her delivery...

Her husband held her hands, while seye urged her to push...

Push... Push... (They and the Nurses screamed)...

She was tired and loosing it... She couldn't handle the pain, fear and fatigue...

Fear was written over them all... The husband, seye, doctor and the nurses.

MADAM you have to push for the safety of the baby and yours (the midwife urged her)

But she was too tired and loosing the grip already...

With fear in her eyes and voice... She looked into seye's eyes and said... THE PROPHESY!!!
She held her husbands hand and seye's own... Joining them together and blessing them before passing out.

The health workers did all they could to reviver her but she was far gone.

Few months later... After several considerations and hard feelings.

Bola's husband tied the knot with seye (being his late wife's last wish) .

It was the happiest day of her life, she was finally happy (although she had to take a huge and sacrilegious step to get there)...

But her happiness and the prophesy was paramount...

She lived life to the fullest and everywhere she went, she had her husband under her canopy.

She wasn't herself without her man beside her.

She was soon pregnant and heavy...

Her husband had rushed her to the hospital for delivery...

She was several hours gone but the baby wouldn't come out,

Operation was not an option either... It was complicated

She would definitely bleed to death if knives were used on her.

She knew there was no turning back.

With tears in her eye.. She reminisced of her evil deeds.

How she had traced the fulani girl back to her settlement...

How she had offered the girls parent (who were soothsayer and spiritualist) money to make sure her prophesy came to reality....

How they had done some rituals so bola won't give birth safely and probably die during operation.

Prophecies do come through, but seye manipulated her way for the prophesy (hers) to come through....

THE END.
