Hadejia Concerned Citizens Network (HCCN) Engages with Hadejia Local Government Chairman on Key Community Development Issues
Hadejia, 30th November 2025 — The Hadejia Concerned Citizens Network (HCCN) held a crucial engagement meeting with the Executive Chairman of Hadejia Local Government, Hon. Ahmad Abba Ari, following an official invitation extended by the council.
The meeting, which took place at the Chairman’s residents, focused on major areas affecting community development, including education, environmental sanitation, healthcare delivery, and the rising concern of child abuse within the local government area.
In his remarks, Hon. Ahmad Abba Ari highlighted the urgent need for collaborative efforts to improve the education sector, strengthen environmental sanitation measures, enhance healthcare services, and address cases of child abuse through community awareness and proper reporting channels.
The leadership of HCCN also presented observations and recommendations based on community feedback, emphasizing the network’s commitment to supporting the local government in providing workable solutions to these pressing challenges.
At the end of the discussions, both parties reached a mutual agreement for HCCN to develop a comprehensive proposal addressing the issues deliberated. The proposal is expected to outline practical interventions, implementation strategies, and areas where partnership with the local government will be most impactful.
The Hadejia Concerned Citizens Network expressed its appreciation to the Chairman for the invitation, his openness to dialogue, and his readiness to collaborate toward the overall development of Hadejia Local Government.

MEETING REPORT
Hadejia Concerned Citizens Network (HCCN)

Venue: HCCN Office, Social Welfare Department, Hadejia
The Hadejia Concerned Citizens Network (HCCN) convened a meeting today at its office located within the Social Welfare Department, Hadejia. The meeting was called to review the activities of the network, assess the successes achieved so far, and discuss the challenges confronting its operations.
The meeting officially commenced at 11:00 a.m. with an opening prayer offered by Musa Abdullahi.
In his welcome the Chairman, Usman Ibrahim, delivered the welcome address. He appreciated members for their commitment and emphasized the importance of strengthening the network’s activities to better serve the Hadejia community.
The meeting reviewed the successes recorded so far and discussed emerging challenges affecting the smooth operation of the network.
Key issues deliberated upon included:
Formation of committees to coordinate advocacy activities across the community.
Expanding media coverage to enhance visibility and public awareness of HCCN initiatives.
Other operational matters aimed at improving efficiency and impact.
Also during the session, members highlighted significant achievements recorded in precious time, including improved community engagement, enhanced collaboration with relevant stakeholders, and successful advocacy efforts on key social and developmental issues. These accomplishments were acknowledged as vital steps toward strengthening the network’s role in promoting the welfare and progress of Hadejia community.
Despite these achievements, the meeting also identified several challenges that require urgent attention. Members discussed issues related to resource limitations, communication gaps, and the need for greater community participation in ongoing initiatives.The network emphasized the importance of developing strategic approaches to address these concerns in order to maintain momentum and achieve its goals.
