Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. We do not fail overnight. Failure is the inevitable result of an accumulation of poor thinking and poor choices. To put it more simply, failure is nothing more than a few errors in judgment repeated every day. Christ is born today and as such, be bold as you step into 2019 knowing yours 2018 failures have been taken over…. Merry Christmas and Happy New year in advance.

PURPOSE
Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice.
It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.
Having a Definite Major Purpose is the starting point of all achievement. To be successful in any endeavor you must have a Definite Major Purpose, goals and an action plan.
A Definite Major Purpose is a stumbling block for ninety-eight out of one hundred people because they never really define or discover their Definite
Major Purpose or develop any personal goals. The choice is yours. You can choose to be a victim of life or a victor in life.
Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.
Definite Major Purpose
A Definite Major Purpose is the why of your life, the reason for your being.
There is a difference between your purpose and your goals. Your purpose is never achieved but is lived out. The reason behind your goals is to focus your effort on achieving a desired need, your Definite Major Purpose.
Purpose is a life-long journey and transcends any selfish interests. Purpose is the context or foundation for your life. Goals are the answer to "what" you wish to accomplish in your life.
Your Definite Major Purpose is a clear, concise and written statement that declares your mission in life. It represents a life-long pursuit, life-long service and a life-long journey. Your Definite Major Purpose should answer most if not all of the following questions.
1. Why do I exist?
2. Where am I going?
3. Whom do I serve and why?
4. What do I have to offer?
5. What are my current and projected outcomes?
Visioning
"Without vision the people perish." Visioning is the first step to planning for success. It is necessary to be able to vision in order to put into words your Definite Major Purpose. A vision as used here is not some mythical experience resulting from exotic mushrooms and sitting cross legged in the sun. Vision is a mental image produced by the imagination or subconscious mind. It is a way of seeing in your minds eye a desired condition, purpose or result. Vision is what you want your world, your community; your family and yourself to become. A vision captures your heart and mind and drives you toward making your vision a reality.
Vision allows you to try out your Definite Major Purpose in your imagination before you finalize it. Vision allows you to experience the feelings of completing your goals before you begin the journey. Some would liken vision to foresight, intuition or discernment of the future.
To create a vision in your mind you must let go of what is and dream about what could be. No matter what your situation in life may be, no matter what circumstance or predicament you are born into, you can dream of something that is better. Find a time and place to relax. Use whatever relaxation technique works best for you. Put out of your mind all of your concerns and worries. Do not be afraid that you will forget your worries or anxieties for they will come back to you, though with less strength. Close your eyes and see what could be. Create pictures in your mind of what kind of future you want for yourself and your family. Create images of the kind of world you want for your children and grandchildren. Meditate on what you love to do that would yield sufficient monetary rewards to fulfill your goals in life. Do not hold back on your ideas because of practical considerations or monetary requirements. Do not limit your creativity.
Out of this exercise you will find your Definite Major Purpose, your goals and your objectives.
Goals
You can develop goals without having a Definite Major Purpose, but your goals will not have the same influence on your life as goals that are designed to focus you on living out your purpose. They will lack the burning desire that is provided by a sense of purpose. Your goal statements will answer the question, what must I accomplish to live out my purpose?
Objectives
When you put in writing your Definite Major Purpose you will experience a sense of confidence and peace. You may also experience a feeling of being over- whelmed by the magnitude of your vision. When you write out your goals this feeling of being overwhelmed will temporarily dissipate, but will likely return when you review your goals. A goal that is challenging may cause some consternation. This is natural, but you must not allow yourself to be frightened into inaction.
When you add objectives to each goal you will again gain a sense of self-confidence. An objective is a measurable step in accomplishing your goal. Some people prefer to label objectives as short-range goals or tasks. Listing your objectives to be accomplished one at a time will take away the overwhelming feeling that a challenging goal may cause.
A goal may have only one objective, but more than likely it will have several. The more objectives you add to each goal the more obtainable that goal will seem and the sense of being overwhelmed will vanish.
What you are doing is breaking down each goal into units of effort that are in the realm of possibility and probability. Put time limits on each objective to keep yourself focused and motivated.
Determine the Cost
It is important that you describe precisely what you intend to give in return for the realization of your Definite Major Purpose. There is no such reality as some- thing for nothing. Everything has a price tag on it.
You must be willing to read the price tag and pay it in full before you get the object of your desire. This price must usually be paid in advance. It is possible to pay it on the installment plan in easy steps, but the total price must be paid before the object of your desire becomes your own.
Accountability
Without accountability, most plans do not move through to completion.
The first person to whom you must be accountable is yourself. Do not allow frivolous excuses for failing to meet an objectives deadline. Learn from your failure, adjust your plan and move on toward success.
If you are married and your spouse shares your plan, then be accountable to each other. This should be your first and most important Master Mind Alliance. Nothing is more powerful than two people united with one mind determined to live out a joint Definite Major Purpose.

Evaluation
Set a date in the future for evaluating your progress. You may wish to do this quarterly, semi-annually or annually. This process requires complete honesty with yourself, but without negative self-talk or debilitating judgement. The purpose of evaluation is not to make you "less a person" but to provide the rationale for revising your success plan.
You may find that circumstances beyond your control are affecting your progress and may require revising your plan. You may find that you have set your goals too low and that they should be revised to become more challenging.
Revision
Revision assumes that you have evaluated your progress on each goal and are ready to make adjustments to the plan. Adjustments should not be made because you have failed to meet a deadline but because of circumstances that are beyond your control or a change in your Definite Major Purpose. Writing out your Definite Major Purpose, your goals and your objectives is your plan by which you will achieve whatever you have determined to be success for you, but your plan must remain flexible to permit changes.
The plan for living out your purpose may change many times. Infinite Intelligence may reveal to you a plan that is far superior. Stand ready always to receive, accept gladly and gracefully and adopt willingly any better plans that occur to your mind out of the blue. Always be on the alert for such hunches.
