The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday, condemned what he described as the lopsided appointment of heads of security agencies by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

“PDP will form a government of national unity. We will bring members of the opposition who would have lost and then, of course, we will move on from there. This is when only the ways to unify this country and we will now begin to move.
Today, we have 17 heads of various security agencies. All of them come from the North; I will not do that. I will make sure that every geopolitical zone is represented in these security outfits. This is also another way you can unify this country and give every part of this country a sense of belonging.
Atiku said, “To do this, we would devolve power to the state and local governments so that they have their own local police to tackle insecurity in the country. We shall make sure your local police don’t harass you.”

Atiku Abubakar had in many times proven to be a true democrat whose Allegiance goes beyond self and sentiments.

During the 1993 Jos Conventions of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the A4 Primary elections, Atiku Abubakar stepped down for Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola (MKO) over a northern candidate Alh. Babagana Kingibe. Atiku sacrificed self ambition to support democracy over military rule and what could have ended roughly.

Again! In Another Jos Convention of the 1998, Atiku threw the weight of his People's Democratic Movement (PDM) on Obasanjo to emerge the Presidential runner of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in a fierce bid, Atiku believed power returns to the south to make up for MKO June 12 Elections.

Atiku has always believed in true democracy as proven on how he conceptualized and pleaded with his Boss, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo that their 1999 regime formed a cabinet of national unity where members of the opposition party had a great stake and part of the government to run.
