So i figured, many other people have this recurring question at the back of their minds, alot are even perplexed, my Professor even once asked me this out of being frustrated, so am going to tell you why u get this so to say 'discrepancy'.
I got compelled to make a post to correct the unasked questions or maybe asked.

There is a big difference between MBps and Mbps (small b and capital B) .. Mbps means Megabits where MBps means Megabytes, to convert Megabit to Megabyte, you divide ur Megabits by 8 since there are 8 bits in a byte Megabits (Mb) Megabytes (MB)

So technically if you are getting 2mbps on ur speedster or modem software, your downloader (idm, dap) download speed should be approx 0.25MB/s or 250KBps... Bytes is equal to Bitsdividedby 8.

Here is the Maths behind this literature..
512 Kbps = 64 KB/s
1 Mbps or 1024 Kbps = 128 KB/s
2 Mbps or 2048 Kbps = 256 KB/s
4 Mbps or 4096 Kbps = 512 KB/s

where small letter b means bits and capital letter B means Bytes
I hope its clear now?
Thanks.
