PAHCCDI was founded in 2003 to improve reproductive health and reduce incidence of sexually transmitted infection, using behavior change communication strategies. For its beginning years, PAHCCDI worked mostly in the area of Health (hence the initial name Health Care Foundation). PAHCCDI’s first HIV prevention project — which was supported by World Bank, promoted abstinence, fidelity and condoms (ABC) — began in 2005. PAHCCDI has since added other interventions to its portfolio. PAHCCDI works in partnership with Local and State Governments, ministries of health and local organizations to create health solutions that are built to last. A hallmark of PAHCCDI is a commitment to the principle that health services and products are most effective when they are accompanied by robust communications and distribution efforts that help ensure wide acceptance and proper use. PAHCCDI has a mission to empower the youths, women and the general population, particularly the poor and vulnerable, to live healthier lives. In collaboration and partnership with the private and public sectors, PAHCCDI adopts social marketing and behavior change communication to enhance access to essential health information, services, and products with the aim of motivating adoption of healthy behaviors. PAHCCDI aims to be a strong, vibrant, highly efficient organization conducting efficient, scalable yet focused interventions. Using social marketing, free distribution and cost recovery services, PAHCCDI is implementing projects that will target reduction of disease burden through promoting access to information, interventions and health products.
