Governor Bassey Otu
EID-EL-FITR MESSAGE
As we mark the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, I extend my warmest felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Cross River State, across Nigeria, and around the world.
The successful completion of Ramadan is a powerful testament to faith, discipline, sacrifice, and devotion to Almighty Allah. It is a period that has strengthened the spirit of compassion, generosity, and selflessness among the faithful.
Eid is not just a celebration; it is a reminder of our shared humanity. It calls on us to uphold the values of love, kindness, tolerance, and unity, especially in a time when these virtues are most needed in our society.
Let us use this moment to reach out to one another, support the less privileged, and continue to build bridges across religious and ethnic lines. Our diversity remains our strength, and together, we can build a more peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Cross River State.
As your Governor, I remain committed to ensuring that every citizen, regardless of faith or background, has the opportunity to thrive in an environment of justice, equity, and mutual respect.
I urge you all to celebrate with moderation, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to peace and service to humanity.
May this Eid bring joy to your homes, peace to our state, and progress to our nation.
Eid Mubarak!
— Senator Prince Bassey Otu
Governor, Cross River State
16/02/2026
Today, I returned home to a reception that deeply touched my heart at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport.
To the jubilant crowd of leaders, support groups, youths, market women, and proud Cross Riverians who came out in their numbers, thank you.
Your prayers and solidarity remain the driving force behind our resolve.
Let me state here clearly that Cross River State will no longer be denied its rightful place in Nigeria.
The sacrifices we have made in the interest of national unity, including the painful ceding of Bakassi for peace were done for the good of our country.
It was not for Cross River to lose her economic lifeline.
We are full fledged Nigerians, and nobody can deny us our rights.
That time has come.
Under our People First agenda, we will continue to move forward with courage and determination.
Cross River will not die.
It is forward ever, backward never.
To God be the glory.
