Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved and adopted the report of the recently concluded personnel verification, as he reaffirmed his directive for immediate commencement of payment of the new minimum wage to verified workers, with arrears of the variation from November 1, 2024.

The Governor gave the approval upon receipt of the official report of the Committee on the Implementation of the New Minimum Wage, at Government House, Uyo. Making reference to the details of the report, Governor Eno directed the Accountant General and all relevant departments of government to ensure timely payment of January salaries to the verified 45,984 with accruing backlog.
