(iii) The disciples of Christ should endeavor to build up one another in their most holy faith, both by repeating what they have heard to those that were absent, and by making known what they have experienced.
2. The unbelieving and doubting disciple. John 20:25-31
(i) There is not an unbelieving word in our tongues, nor thoughts in our minds, that is not known to the Lord Jesus, and He was pleased to Himself even to Thomas, rather than leave him in his unbelief.

(iii) It is embrace the doctrine of Christ, and the record concerning him. 1 John 5:11
Conclusion: There were other signs and proofs of our Lord's resurrection, but these were committed to writing, that all might believe that Jesus was the promised Messiah, the Saviour of sinners, and the Son of God, and by faith

(i) Joseph of Arimiathea was a disciple of Christ in secret - Disciples should openly own themselves.
(ii) The embalming was done by Nichodemus, a secret friend to Jesus, though not his constant follower.
Note: These two rich men showed the value they had for the person of Christ and His doctrine, and that it was not lessened by the reproach of the cross.

(b) We must do our duty as the present day and opportunity are, and leave it to God to fulfil His promises in His own way and His own time.
2. The site of the sepulchre. John 19:41-42
(i) The grave of Jesus was appointed with the wicked, as was the case of those who suffered as criminals; but He was with them-in His death, as prophesied, (Isa. 53:9)
(ii) He was buried in a new sepulchre; therefore, it could not be said that it was not He but some other that rose
