OUR HEROES:- ZANNA UMAR MUSTAPHA 1966 - 2015

Zanna Umar Mustapha who is fondly called Mazan Fama by his friends & most especially his Boss Sen. Kashim Shettima (Former Governor, Senator as well as the Vice Presidential candidate of APC (All Progress Congress).

Zanna Umar Mustapha who was born in Biu in southern part of Borno State in 1966.
He was a naval personnel before he resigned in 1993 and went into private business where he became the chief executive officer of a clearing and forwarding company in Lagos.
After the return of the country to democratic rule in 1999, the late Mustapha joined politics and contested for the position of Chairman of Biu Local Government Council under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but he lost the contest.

He remained a loyal member of the PDP and later became the Chairman of the National Library Board after the 2007 general elections.
That was after he served as deputy gubernatorial candidate to Alhaji Kashim Imam, under the platform of the PDP, but were defeated by Governor Ali Modu Sheriff of the ANPP.

In 2011, the PDP nominated for governorship Alhaji Mohammed Goni, a former governor of Borno State during the Second Republic after a hotly contested primary election in which he defeated Kashim Imam, Ambassador Saidu Pindar, Hon Mohammed Kumalia and others.
Not satisfied with the development, Kashim Imam went into alliance with Ali Modu Sheriff, who was already completing his second term but was earnestly working towards the success of Kashim Shettima, the gubernatorial candidate of the ANPP.

A marriage of convenience was organized and Kashim Imam said he would work for the ANPP if Sheriff would allow him to produce deputy gubernatorial candidate in person of the late Mustapha.
Former Governor Sheriff agreed and Mustapha became the running mate to incumbent Governor Kashim Shettima.

The duo defeated Mohammed Goni who had also picked Saidu Pindar as his deputy gubernatorial candidate of the PDP.
