The former OAU vice chancellor and erudite Professor, Wande Abimbola identified eight fundamentals of being an Ọmọlúàbí:

1. *ọ̀rọ̀ sísọ*,(spoken word),

2. *ìtẹríba* (respect),

3. *inú rere* (having good mind to others),

4. *òtítọ́* (truth)

5. *ìwà* (character),

6. *akínkanjú* (bravery),

7. *isẹ́* (hard work) and

8. *ọpọlọ pípé* (intelligence).

CONDEMNATION OF A HEINOUS ATTACK AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY SPONSORED BY MR BOWALE SOSIMI

Gentlemen of the press,

Our attention has been drawn to the recent attack on Comrade Omifare Oladipupo AKA Omoluabi by one Mr Bowale Sosimi’s assailants. Comrade Omifare Oladipupo was attacked on his way home on the 10th of August, 2016 around 9:30 pm at Ayodele street , Fadeyi, Somolu-Lagos. It was reported that three out of the ten assailants that perpetrated this evil were identified as Benji, Kehinde (Ikon) and Ariyo. The assailants also destroyed Comrade Omoluabi’s Bill Boards, Banners and flex.

We want to unequivocally state that it is appalling that in this age and time that somebody like Mr Bowale Sosimi a chairmanship aspirant in Somolu Local Government who was supposed to be a good role model for his children and the entire good people of Somolu would rather prefer to be sponsoring monstrous activities than indulge in any progressive and commendable activities in Somolu.

TTB hereby condemn this nefarious act in its entirety and use this medium as a matter of urgency to call on security agencies to immediately bring the perpetrators as identified above to book. This barbaric, nefarious, anti-democratic and unprogressive act must be condemned by all. It must be borne in mind that egalitarian society can only thrive when the ethos and ethics of democratic principle are at all times preached, expressed and demonstrated not only by those in power but also by those aspiring to be.

This is a litmus test for all and sundry. Therefore, as elections draw near, we want to seize this medium to appeal to all the people of Somolu to be careful and vigilant of hoodlums who claim to be leaders. It is pertinent to also say that the onus is on us to get rid of these desperate politicians from our political space because they had no good plan but to use us as instruments to propagate violence for their selfish interest.

A good name is better than title.
