The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) is proposing a minimum wage of N450,000 and it's very achievable. Who says it isn't possible? There's plenty of money in this country. The federal government claims that even an N80,000 minimum wage is too much, but that's not true.
Think about it: the government finds around N27 million to pay each senator on time every month, without any delays. Yet, your company struggles to pay you N60,000 and might even owe you for months.
If the economy was in better shape, even a N500,000 minimum wage would be realistic. The FG has made us to believe that the proposed minimum wage is unrealistic but that's a blatant LIE.
