As part of Governor Bala Mohammed’s bold vision to position Bauchi State at the forefront of the digital economy, the Bureau for ICT and Digital Economy (BICT) is to launch Phase 1 of a world-class Cybersecurity Training Program, in partnership with the Cyber Nations Initiative, a Canada-based alliance of global cybersecurity leaders.

This landmark initiative follows a strategic bilateral engagement between Bauchi State and the Government of Canada, and reflects the administration’s commitment to creating digital jobs, strengthening cyber resilience, and empowering the next generation of tech talent.

𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹:

In this first phase, 100 youth from Bauchi will benefit from intensive cybersecurity training designed to prepare them for high-demand careers in the global tech ecosystem. With the overall goal of training and placing 100,000 African, Caribbean, and Canadian learners, this program offers participants industry-recognized certifications, hands-on labs, and access to experienced mentors.

Graduates will be equipped to pursue careers in roles such as:

• 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁– Monitoring systems and preventing cyber threats
• 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁 – Identifying and resolving security weaknesses
• 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 – Addressing and mitigating cyberattacks
• 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 – Leading awareness campaigns and training simulations

The program is open to:
• Individuals passionate about cybersecurity
• Graduates and professionals seeking a career switch
• Candidates eager to earn globally respected certifications

𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮
Applicants must:
• Be 18 years or older
• Be a citizen and resident of Bauchi State
• Have completed at least high school (post-secondary education is a plus)
• Demonstrate digital literacy
• Have an IT background or relevant experience (preferred)
• Be proficient in English
• Have a clean security record
• Commit at least 30 hours per week to the program
