The Little Light

In a small village, there lived a young girl named Amara. She was only twelve years old, but her smile could brighten the darkest day. Though her family was poor, she never complained. Every morning, she helped her mother fetch water and cared for her younger brother.

One rainy season, Amara became seriously ill. At first, everyone thought it was a simple fever, but day after day, she grew weaker. Her mother sat beside her bed every night, praying for her recovery.

Despite her pain, Amara always smiled and said, “Mother, don’t cry. Everything will be alright.”

As the weeks passed, the illness became worse. The villagers gathered to support the family, bringing food and offering prayers. Everyone loved Amara because of her kindness.

One quiet evening, Amara held her mother’s hand and whispered, “Thank you for loving me.” Tears filled her mother’s eyes as she kissed her daughter’s forehead.

That night, Amara peacefully passed away.

The next morning, the village was silent. Her empty chair outside the house reminded everyone of the cheerful girl they had lost. Her mother wept, and her little brother kept asking when she would come home.

Though Amara’s life was short, her kindness left a mark on every heart she touched. The villagers often said, “A beautiful flower bloomed among us, and though it faded too soon, its fragrance remains forever.”

Moral Lesson: Life is precious and uncertain. The love and kindness we show others are the memories that remain long after we are gone.
