Fifty-two(52) days later — as of January 30, 2026 — the party is yet to organise any formal reception for him. That silence speaks volumes.

It shows clearly that, politically, Fubara holds little strategic value to the APC ahead of 2027.

When it comes to Rivers State and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, one name still stands out: Nyesom Ezenwo Wike - CON, GSSRS . He remains Tinubu’s trusted political general — the man expected to lead the battle for 2027.

In 2023, Tinubu went to “war” with Wike as his lieutenant — and he won. A tested ally is not easily replaced by someone without a solid political base.

Those rallying behind Sir Siminalayi Fubara are only deceiving themselves. They will continue living in denial until the APC gubernatorial primaries.

And when those primaries come — and he fails to secure the ticket — reality will finally set in.
