ZEE CAST
Based on the tremendous positive impact recorded after the successful launch of FADAMA in states to make a significant contribution to economic prosperity through the support of Agriculture, the Fadama III PROJECT THROUGH THE STATE Fadama Coordination office (SFCO) implemented a community-directed intervention designed to reduce poverty and promote growth in the non-oil sector using agriculture as its base.
To benefit on a large scale from this lucrative agribusiness requires capital that most small farm holders lack. This is where Seefor has operated heavily in for the past few years. In line with this mandate, the project has continued to sensitize and empower farmers across the 55 Fadama Community Associations (FCAs). With a contract in hand, these farmers receive funding from the to buy hectares of farmland, pig and fish supplies, cassava plants, and grants to grow a flourishing agribusiness.
For instance, Seefor establishmed greenhouses in some communities such as Ukala Okpunor, Okurekpo, Ewherhe FCA.
To envision a positive future that nurtures the hope and dreams of Nigerian youths, SEEFOR embarked on self-reliance projects to reduce the rate of youth unemployment in Delta State. The aim was to create an avenue for wealth creation whereby youths can explore and embrace entrepreneurial skills and talents.
Daily, youths in the state are often faced with hurdles that prevent them from being financially independent. Hence, the SEEFOR Project did not just equip graduates with vital entrepreneurial skills they need to succeed, but also empowered them with starter packs which has enabled them to start their enterprenuaral journey.
Since its operation, SEEFOR has hit its target of creating more than 9000 jobs for Delta Youths.
Kindly watch as one of the starter pack beneficiaries share his story.
