My answer: the reason you might be having low sales is probably because you don't know how to sell or your shop location is not in an area where your customers are or maybe you are yet to figure out who you really want to sell to (i.e those that will buy your products because they need it and truly appreciate it)

And the single solution to this is for you to go and learn from someone who is doing that same business as yours and let them train you for a month or two you will discover how to sell, who to sell to and the best place to find them. And you don't need to close your shop while doing this, you can go on weekends or closing hours. Plus if it will cost you a little to pay them to teach you, please do. Plus you might be lucky to find someone online that will teach you.

The answer is you need to do both. Because there are some things your mentor won't be able to show you that you will learn in a book. Plus those who wrote books are also your mentors. A mentor is not just the person you meet, your mentor can be someone you watch their videos, read their books even though they are not close to you or are alive or dead
