Chapter five

“Congratulations, your selfless act is going to get you killed!“

“What?“ Anna asked
“She kind of behave like my sister.“
“Really? You have a sister?“
“Sshh!“ Leslie shush them as she heard faint footsteps, and they all remain silent.

“They will soon be here!“ He thought.
“pfftt, I mean, you are right, but they are still far away from us, you were only been able to hear them because of your hearing, you get?“
“Oh… but why do they seems to be in an hurry?“ Aiden asked referring to the Kalibres

“Go! Go! Go! Go!“ The Soldiers yelled as they are done bringing down the tent and packing up there things, living the dead bodies.

“Vummmm vummmm” the sound of the vehicle engine echoed across the desert and he stared to what left of her body while One of the kalibres drove the van away from the desert to another unknown location.
“Don't worry we are going to have our revenge“ His wolf said.
“Shut up!“
“Why? I'm trying to console you, you should accept my consolation not shut me up…”

“What do you think he is thinking?“
“I don't know, we shouldn't have taken him that day, you were so persistent and wouldn't listen to me!“
“What do you mean?“
“Look at where it brought us. Now, we have to start thinking of a way to tell him the truth, that is if we survive and escape from those pieces of s**t!“

“Telling him the truth is not a big deal!“
“It's not a big?… you are so unbelievable!“

“Don't you get? He freaking killed four fu***ng soldiers when he was angry, not one, not two, but four! Singlehandedly! He almost got all of us trouble yesterday night and few minutes ago, If you hadn't intervened he probably would have killed that soldiers, and we would have been dead by now!“
“Are you saying if we tell him the truth he will be so angry and kill us?“
“Easily.“ He added
“But whenever I call unto him he always go back to being soft…”
“Oh spare me that Martha, that is because he doesn't know what you did. Wait until he knows what is truly up your sleeve!“
“But…”
“No but, he might hear us.“ Elvis said and turned his face away from her

“Gosh, this is so bad more than I thought!“
“Dear Aiden, whenever you get to learn about the truth, I hope you take your time to make a right decision.“ Martha muttered under her breath

One hour later they arrive at the spot Kalibre's had used for abode the previous night.
“The bodies are still here?“
“Is this what they want us to see? They want us to clean up their mess, by leaving traces of them, knowing fully well we are up in their tail.“ Carol said out loud frustrated.
“We came all this way to pick dead bodies? I don't think so, search the area!“ He ordered and the search began.
“What are we looking for detective?“
“Anything, that could lead us to them, anything!“
“On it!“
“I should probably go join them.“ Carol said to him.
“Of course, you should.“ He replied, she left to join the search he went to examine the bodies.
“The kalibres has a thing of killing people, it will only make sense if what ever they had for them is on the bodies right?“ He thought, and walked over to the fresh body. He knelt beside to take a proper look noticing the bulky chest of the fresh body.
He wore his gloves and deep his hand in his chest to take it out, disgusted by the body.
“Of course, my instincts are not right, it's just the Kalibre being stupid.“ He said sarcastically and went to check out what ever was there inside the nylon.
He walked over to his car to take it out only to find a camera.
He check out its contents, but it only has a video, he then press the play button.
“Hello there detective, I know you must have been looking for a way to get to me, in other words, to join me in my live…” he paused the video
“What? How the f**k did he know?“ He muttered.

Previous night*****

“Go home and take a good rest, we have a long day tomorrow. You need it.“ he said gently as soon as he heard the opening of the the door and the footsteps that get louder as they get close to him
“What are you doing?“ Carol asked instead
“as you can see, I'm doing my job detective. Untying the loose ends.“ he said releasing his hand from the akimbo position and walking away from the board to drop the market
“So what is the first loose ends we have to untie first?“ She asked walking up to the white board.
“Find the survivor?“ She read out loud
“Yes!“ He said walking away from the room. Once the door is shut, he brought out his phone and went to his call log, strolled down to a contact saved as Cole, tapping the call button, he brought the phone to his ear and waited for the contact to receive the call till The ringing stopped, he did that again for a while before he stopped calling, and call someone else instead, one of the officers that his profession is technology based and is assigned to work on the case with him.

“Hello detective!“
“Yes, hmm, Do you know of a way we could join the live video of the Kalibre?“
“Hmm, yes, but we still won't be able to get their location.“
“It's not about the location Drew, just something else.“
“Okay, we just have to…”
“Don't tell me the procedure, once he is live let me know…”

“How did he know?“ he plays the video.
“… Live update, watch this to the end, it contains the necessary information you will need to successfully do that…” He stopped the video from playing.
“Dang it!“ He muttered.
He put the camera back into the nylon and wanted to keep it to himself, “There is a spy among us, whoever this spy is, knows there is something like this here, if I keep it without letting anyone know, this will give the spy an idea that I knew that there is a spy, if I do not?…” he thought.

“Guys! Found something!“ He yelled at the cops, and they all started coming back from their searching.
“Really? Where did you find it sir?“
“In the co**se body, now let's take the body for research.“ He said.
“What was in it?“ Another cop asked.
“I doing know, let me check..“ He said and put on his gloves, he had taken it off earlier.
“A camera?“
“The IT team, will be working on it, and also it will be taken to the lab, we need to check of any finger print.“

“Sir, we found tire trails!“
“Again?“
“We should chase after them, the body and the tire trails are still fresh they probably left this morning.“ Carol suggested
“I don't think we should do that yet, if we do the victims will be all dead, them leaving the trails shows that they know we will follow it and thereby leading us to a trap they probably set for us, we should leave and re strategize to catch them once and for all” he explained.

“But who is the spy?“ He thought.

Chapter Four

____First of all, Introduction.

He got into the building, and search for her.
He got to the door which she was held hostage after some contemplation he kicked it open leaving them in a state of shock and dismay as they stopped what they were doing and faced him.

“Let them go!“ He shouted aloud at them as he stepped into the room. They stared at him for a while before laughing out loud.
“What if we don't?“ One of them asked him immediately the uproar stopped.
“Then you are going to have to defeat me before you can have them” he answered and walked closer to them closing the door behind him. He doesn't want to pick a fight with them but he had said it before he could stopped. He uses his eyes to gently scanned the number of the keepers in the room that he just make a fight deal with. “9! There are freaking 9 of them! Great.“ He thought.
He saw the girl of earlier on the floor and he wonder what would have happened if he hadn't came in…

One of the keepers who spoke earlier stood up to him, staring at him in the eyes, “You want to get into fight with us because of those piece of s**t?“
“Watch your mouth dummy!“he answered in his head. But he said instead, “those piece of s**t are worth more than your generations full existence.“
The keeper chuckled turning his back to stared at his people, with his eyes telling them what to do and they all stay at alert in position, he turned back just as he has done and tried hitting him.
He caught the punch, “Too slow!“ He said to him and he threw his left fist, he caught it too, “Too predictable.“ He said to him again and the keeper grits his teeth, the others that already stood in position emerges to attack him, giving the two girls freedom and time to run. He shared a eye contact with them signifying for them to run.
Thrashing the keepers will be a piece of cake for him.

He was 5 years old when Lord Anex had attacked their home, taking it away form them after killing their Alpha. Unlike some unlucky kids, his father and sister was able to survive the war.
His father used to be general for their soldiers and he was taught basic fight skills right from when he was a kid and when the war ended his father take it upon himself to train both him and his sister all the fighting skills he knew before he was later killed two years back, he is 21 now. He took care of his sister after their father's death, and he lost her too a year after his father's death.

“I told you to run!“ He shouted at the girls he is sacrificing his obedience for as he saw them fighting off the keepers along side with him, especially the girl from earlier. He never knew she could fight, she doesn't look like a person who do.

The heavy sound of the broken door make them stopped what they were doing as they stared at the broken door to see Lord Anex general along with a few soldiers.
“The Alpha want to see you all!“ He announced and marched them together with the keepers to Lord Anex's Court…

“That's all?“ Anna asked as soon as he finished narrating his own side of the story. As soon as they got to Anex's Court the day before, they were locked up because he couldn't see them. So, Apparently, their death day has been postponed because anybody who grace Anex's Court is either killed or Imprisoined for ever.
“What is it are you called?“ Anna asked
“I don't think that is important right now.“
“Why did you followed me?“ She asked
“It should be why did I saved you and your friend. I could used some thanks, you know.“
“Not until I know the reason behind your disobedience.“
“Common Leslie, don't be cold. His selfless act saved us” Anna nudged her.
“Congratulations your Selfless act is about to get you killed.

“Sir, we found nothing.“ One of the cop who had gone to search the woods reported their results to Felix. The FBI had instructed the search team according to Felix suggestion to search the area.
Felix nodded at him and he left. “So, what are we going to do now?“ Carol asked undisturbed Felix, he had said there was a beast in the country who freaking killed two kalibres. “We already have enough beast in Alakanes! Kalibres are enough, we don't need no other beast right now!“ She had thought but there he was not feeling disturbed.
He ignored her and walked to the van, brought out his cell phone and did some writing, after a while he signaled to one of the search team to retreat and instead focus on the road that leads out of the town if there could be any traces of what they were looking for.
The drone pilots started their works, the K-9 weren't left out.

“Incoming call” his phone beep he swiped to the receive icon.
“sir, we found something!“
“What?“
“tire traces sir, we assume it could be of the Kalibres.“
“Just tire traces?“
“Yes, sir, from the look of things, it seems like that of a big Van.“
“Stand by, on my way to check it out.“

“What?“ Carol asked as soon as he dropped his phone.
“They found something.“ He said curtly and hopped on the car.
“Great! What is it that they found?“
“Wanna go see things yourself? Get in!“
“Of course, I will.“ She replied before taking a seat beside him and he drives on following the direction the drone pilots had gave him, some cops follow suit.

He parked his car and they stepped out.
“They left traces?“ She asked rhetorically.
“Was surprised too.“
“Maybe they want us to find something?“
“Maybe it's a loose end that will be untied by us soon.“ He said.
“The video, yesterday. That live video, it's was shot in the desert, and this roads leads to the desert.“ Carol said with excitement
“Exactly, we are close to finding them!“ He said with a hint of Mockery in his tone
“Is that sarcasm?“
“Yes.“ he replied in a duh tone.
“Follow the trace!“ He ordered and they all went back to continue their search.
“Pfft! What a brat“ Carol muttered

The desert wind blew to their faces, a water in bowl was brought to.them and they take turns in washing their faces in it. And they were given some water to drink.

“We move in 3 minutes!“ The captain ordered and the kalibre nodded.
When they were dine drinking. The vehicle were warmed up, and the victims were told to line up in a single file.

The soldiers went to pick up their bags that contains ammunition of any kinds that has been prepared by their captain for each of them.
As the victims were taken to the vans, the captain came to the bags and realised two of it has not been taken, he called one of the soldiers that was passing.
“Has everyone have each of their bag?“
“Yes, captain.“
“What about this four?“
“They are prolly extras.“
“You may go.“

His soldiers has been reduced to two, he specifically arranged the bags so they were no extra, where are the two soldiers? Did they ran off? If they do, he needs to get rid of them as soon as possible.“ He thought.

“What is wrong captain?“ His right hand man came up to hum seeing how disturb he is.
“I'm short of four men.“

“Can you hear that?“ his wolf said.
“Of course, I can, I've been have weird hearing range since yesterday.“
“The soldiers, what happened to them?“
“We killed them!“ His wolf said casually, just then he had split of headaches, flashes of yesterday's event appeared clearly in his head, he did that?
“We did what? You did it!“
“Come here, what are you?“
“okay. first of all, introduction. As I've said before, I'm your wolf. I'm Aiken the alpha of my kind, born on an half moon day. I was all goofy and jiggy until the night when those blood suckers invaded my…”
“Okay, enough! Enough! I'm tired of your folklore, why the f**k are you controlling me?“
“You weren't listening, are you? And how the hell will a 16 year old cuss?“
“Stop deviating my question!“
“im answering you but you keep stopping me from talking, and also I'm not controlling you, that is just you being you.“
“Liar!“
“What are you staring at you brat? Move!“ One of the kalibre yelled at him and hit him with a rod.
He instinctively looked at the soldier giving him a hard dangerous glare.
“What? Did you lost your hearing? I said move!“ He yelled again.

“No one has the right to yelled at us, pfft the damn coward is even threatening us!“ His wolf said angrily, his breath unsteady as his was uncontrollably angry.

“Oh no! This is bad.“ His mother muttered.

“Let me be, you fool!“ A cry break out form the back as the attention shifted from him to the cause of the cry.
A young boy had pushed away the kalibre away, let me rephrase that, 'attempted to'
Seeing the abrupt chaos the victims are doing, the captain walked over them with his hand in his pant pocket holding his rifle.

“You want to be left alone? Your wish is granted. Bang!“ He shut the boy and the victims all gasped

“Something to remind y'all if you try to be smart? You will continue to your smart ness in the land of the dead!“
“Now, I don't wanna here a single word from any of you again, understood?“ He yelled at them.
“Yes, sir!“ They stuttered.
“Now get your ass in the goddamn van!“ He ordered and they all scurried to the van.

“Can you hear that?“ His wolf said to him as soon as they successfully climbed the van.
“The sirens? FBI?“ He answered
