Flat Roofs: Minimalist Dream or Maintenance Nightmare?
The minimalist aesthetic is trending, and with it, the demand for flat roofs. But in our climate, a flat roof is only as good as the site supervision behind it. 🏗️⛈️
When we transition from the lintel level to the roof slab, "good enough" isn't an option. To ensure a flat roof actually works, I focus on three critical technical factors during supervision:
1. The Geometry of Drainage: A "flat" roof should never be perfectly flat. We supervise the precise slope (fall) to ensure water moves toward the drains instantly, preventing ponding.
2. Waterproofing Literacy: We don't just rely on concrete. From membrane installation to high-quality chemical additives, we verify that every layer of protection is applied correctly.
3. Thermal Management: Flat roofs can be heat traps. We integrate insulation strategies early in the structural phase to keep the interiors cool, matching the "luxury" experience with actual comfort.
At Ebison, we believe in architecting reality. That means ensuring the buildings we design don't just look stunning in a 4K render—they perform flawlessly in the real world.
A 3D render is just a "digital makeup" session if your architect doesn't speak the language of the site. Most designs fall apart the moment a contractor picks up a hammer because they weren’t built on reality.
At Ebison, we don't just "draw." We engineer.
When you see a dark fluted wall in our render, we haven’t just picked a color—we’ve calculated the panel dimensions and sourced the exact charcoal matte finish. When you see that Oak Island, we’ve already mapped the grain direction and specified the joinery requirements.
The Ebison Standard:
Strategic Specification: Your contractor gets a blueprint, not a "vibe."
BOQ Integrity: We don't design fantasies. If it can’t be sourced in Abuja or Benin, it doesn’t go in the render.
Technical Precision: What you see at 0:15 is the exact reality that will be installed.
Ebison: Architecting Reality, Not Just Dreams.

Design is an iterative process. For this mosque project, we didn't just stop at one idea. We explored multiple palettes and textures to find the perfect balance between spiritual serenity and architectural grandeur.
From the crisp, modern white finishes to the intricate, warm-toned wooden craftsmanship, our goal is to ensure the 6m x 5.2m structural vault we audited on-site is utilized to its full aesthetic potential.
Whether it’s the play of light on the dome or the precision of the Mihrab, we provide our clients with options that match their investment goals and spiritual vision.
