The Democratic Alternative Support Initiative
*NATIONAL PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS, AT THE GENERAL MEETING OF SUNDAY 12th, SEPTEMBER, 2021*
Good Evening to us,all. Hope we are experiencing a fulfilled and fun filled Sunday night,in our various locations? There is no better feeling than converging in a family like atmosphere to interact and look into the future with exciting optimism .
On this note, may I ,on behalf of the National Executive Council of The Democratic Alternative Support Initiative( TDASI), welcome all of us to tonight's meeting.
Tonight, we will further deepen our collective resolve to build a formidable and world class political support initiative, first of it's kind, in the recent political history of this country.
We are still converging here, even when we have a platform created for registered members, because, we believe, that people don't respond to voluntary calls, at the same time and speed.
However, we will keep appealing to those still sitting on the fence,to quickly make up their minds to identify fully with this family or be left behind, when the train finally leaves this station.
To another group, waiting to hear, that a presidential aspirant or candidate is bankrolling this group or has given us money to share, we are sorry to disappoint you all,as there is no money to share and there will never be money to share.
Our political mindsets in this country must change gradually, going forward. We cannot continue to act like irresponsible citizens and expect a responsible and people oriented leadership. Leadership is a product of followership.
When the people come together, pull their resources together, take their power back and give it freely to those, they have identified, as having the requisite characteristics of good leaders, the emerged leadership, will have no choice than to provide good and qualitative service to the people, that guarantees better living conditions for them.
However, there is no process or system that does not recognize and reward hard work and sacrifices. As we embark on this journey and God willing, the process gives us our heart desires, let's be rest assured, that every registered member of this initiative, who contributed one way or the other to the success of this family, will surely be rewarded accordingly, God willing.
Great people, let me reaffirm the commitment of this group, to her well known position on the indivisibility of this great country, even in the face of great challenges .Nigeria is going through a phase that will lead us to where we all desire, as a people, hence divisive characters and tendencies, whose stock in trade is the posting of materials, that instigates us,against us,cannot and will not be supported or encouraged here.
My brothers and sisters, as we converge here tonight,we are all encouraged, to ask questions, give advice, come up with ideas that will help us,as we match towards the October date for our National inauguration, as no one man drives a vision successfully.
The Democratic Alternative Support initiative ( TDASI) is still a work in progress, with dedicated and committed leadership, from the National level,to zonal and state levels, with strong determination to change the face of political support initiative in Nigeria come ,2023. We are all encouraged to key into this vision and be part of this history making family.
As your servant leader,I claim no monopoly of wisdom or knowledge on how things works politically,I call on each of us to free feel to approach me with new and purposeful ideas ,as I know that ideas rule the world and am always home with ideas and content creators, being one myself.
Tonight, let's resolve to sacrificially throw our supports behind TDASI and her would be aspirants/ candidates of choice,at all levels,as we are guaranteeing you all, that those TDASI will throw her support behind, will be men and women, with needed background to provide us good and qualitative leadership come 2023 and beyond.
Great family, we thank you for standing with us and we are appealing to you,to join us ,let's keep building this family together, as we are indeed stronger Together.
Thank you all and God God bless

** ADDRESS BY THE PRESIDENT, AT THE ONGOING NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ONLINE MEETING **
Good evening great TDASI leaders. As I welcome all of us to tonight’s scheduled online meeting,Let me firstly ,congratulate all of us, for our God’s given privilege to witness the beginning of the new month of August ,in the year of our lord,2021.
Hope ,we all are doing great out there? My sincere love to you and your families, as we keep making huge sacrifices in our search for a new democratic and transformational leadership ,for our dear country.
For any society to have a transformational leadership, followership must be ready and willing to transform their minds, make sacrifices, get deeply involved in the leadership recruit process and engage interested parties, in a robust manner, throw up superior arguments and clearly and unambiguously stand with verifiable people oriented leadership, irrespective of party, ethnic or religious affiliations.
Good Governance is our focus. Let’s not forget.
As leaders on this platform, let’s not forget that, our slogan is “ An alternative to poor governance “ In other words, we are not comfortable with the governance of today, as we consider their cumulative governance Impacts on the people ,very poor, hence our search for an alternative.
In our quest for an alternative to this current, poor, uninspiring, visionless, lacklustre leadership , we have in our country,we must rise above the narrow confines of partisanship, ethnicity and religiosity and throw our support behind an aspirant/candidate , with verifiable evidence of pan Nigerianism, positive performance in economic activities, a great listener, broadminded, with liberal tendencies, willing to sign a social contract with the people and abide by the contents and dictates of that contract.
Come 2023, we must redefine leadership, away from the status quo and take democracy back to the people, as democracy is indeed a Government of the people, by the people and for the people.
Comrades, as leaders on TDASI platform, we must identify and adopt leadership principles or models, that reflects our vision for our larger society. No doubt, we desire to see the emergence of a Democratic, visionary and transformational leadership in Nigeria, against the current quasi military, transactional and laizzes-faire ,kind of leadership. If that is the case , we all must stand up now and give TDASI a visionary and transformational leadership, by sacrificially showing the way for others to follow.
As your servant leader, I have no doubt in my mind, that I am willing and ready. But I can’t do it alone, as I need you all to queue behind me.
Nevertheless , even when I acknowledge your sacrifices, like Oliver twist , I desire to see more of your pillars of supports behind me, as we embark on this journey.
I must sincerely and from the bottom of my heart ,express my gratitude to you all for believing in me and my leadership style. But I must state clearly that am not comfortable, that no one is criticising me openly, as I know I am not perfect. I am an open minded person, willing to learn from the masters. Please teach me, leadership and how to be a better leader, as I am not an all knowing leader.
Great leaders of TDASI, October is our month to remember, am worried and troubled. Asking myself so many questions , will the planned inauguration be, as envisioned? . Can we pull this through ? Many questions and no answers yet. But one of my greatest joy today is that ,this vision and dream scares me atimes. Remember, we were told that if your dreams and visions don’t scare you, then you are far from achieving greatness . This milestone must be achieved and we will, yes we will, because we can.
Brothers and sisters, tonight ,let’s deepen our resolve to be part of the building of a new Nigeria. A new Nigeria we all will be proud of. But remember, nothing good comes easy and no one man drives a vision successfully, as there are visioners and there are vision drivers.. let’s drive this God given vision, together.
Once again I Welcome you all to tonight’s parley. Lets roll guys. Thank you all and God bless.
Wabara Emeka Gerald
National President/Head of Administration
On behalf of the leadership of this great family, we wish our Muslim brothers and sisters, happy sallah celebrations.
*LET'S STAY ON THE PART OF PEACE AND LOVE *
My heart bleeds. I woke up this morning with a heavy and wandering heart.
Till this hour, am still reflecting on so many things , thinking of the solutions to the myriads of challenges bedevilling our Nigeria.
My country is bleeding. Agents provocateurs from every part of this country, are also busy playing the victims, from militias to terrorists, bandits to different criminal elements masquerading as ethnic or religious champions, all claiming one form of injustice or another . What is the problem and who are those fanning this embers of discord?
Unfortunately they are all Nigerians, seriously working in cahoots with foreign machineries’ to ensure the disintegration of once a great nation.
Why are we allowing this? I ask our brothers and sisters, from the East, west, North and South, Yorubas, Fulanis, Igbos, Hausas , Efiks, Idomas etc, Christians, muslims, Ogun and amadioha adherents , why, just why?
Great TDASI family, let's look at this, as family, the National president is from the Southeast, Deputy National President is from the North West, National Secretary is from the South West,National Women leader is from the North East, National organizing Secretary is from the North Central, married to a south southerner, National director ( Legal services) from the South South, National youth leader a Christian from the North East, we all are relating very well irrespective of our different ethnic and religious backgrounds. If we can be here together, relating peacefully and happily, we can also replicate or transfer the same spirit to our brothers and sisters , who are promoting all forms of extremism against fellow Nigerians.
Consciously we have built and still building a family that is truly a Nigerian family. If we accepted to converge here as one indivisible family, with one focus, which is to contribute towards the building of a new Nigeria, a reinvigorated Nigeria and a working Nigeria, where justice, equity, love and peace reigns supreme, why are we still holding unto and promoting the culture of hatred and bitterness, why are we still talking about North and south, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Fulani ,Christians and Muslims, instead of Nigeria? Why are we allowing Local and international merchants who thrives on conflicts and crises situations to keep pushing us to the brinks? Have we asked ourselves, who benefits from the disintegration of Nigeria, if there are beneficiaries, off course there are , why do we think they will ever stop encouraging us to take that part instead of building a stronger and more United Nigeria, devoid of religious and ethnic sentiments? Why are we not pushing back these agents of destruction , reclaim and rebuild our country, knowing fully well that we are better off as a United and stronger nation even in our diversities. Nigeria's strength scares our enemies and they will not stop until they achieve their aims. Unfortunately they have allies who are Nigerians pursuing their personal and ethnic interests at the expense of National interest.
Are we going to sit and watch us fall like pack of cards, are we going to pretend that all is well with us, or are we going to accept that we are gradually falling apart and stand up, pick up the pieces, hold our hands tightly and say never again shall we allow ,promote or elevate mediocrity over sound minds and reasoning , never again shall we put our destinies in the hands of political merchants, who thrives on the blood of our country men and women, never again shall we put our immediate gains ahead of consistent and sustained good governance and economic development, the time to stand up and fight our enemies is now. Those promoting religious and ethnic sentiments, will not do it for us, as the live well as ethnic and religious champions at the expense of a United, stronger and prosperous country, where every sane Nigerian will have access to equal opportunities , take advantage of it to build a just and free society.
I want to call on us on this platform to consciously develop and advance superior nationalistic spirit, preach unbiased peace, love , equity , justice, as Nigerians and not as ethnic or religious champions. We must assume that task of mind reorientation and feed the larger society with a new thinking, new hope, driven by the spirit of oneness for the good of ourselves and our generations yet to come.
We must resist every spirit that gives us that false sense of superiority over others, we must say no to we against them or them against us spirit, as one great family, we must see ourselves as brothers and sisters created by one God, destined to inhabit our God given country.
Yes ,the times we are in is tough on us, every part of this country today is feeling the negative impact of today’s wicked, inept and lacklustre leadership.
Nevertheless, that this Government is headed by a Fulani Muslim, doesn’t not mean that we have never had a Fulani led Government, we were proud of in the past, that the Vice president in this Government, is a Yoruba man does not mean, we have never had a Yoruba vice president that assisted a president to guarantee us a measure of good governance, that there is no Igbo in the top echelons of today’s Government, doesn’t mean Igbos have never occupied positions of authorities in Governments before.
In an atmosphere of peace and love ,religion and ethnicity will never make headlines, as they will be greatly deemphasized.
Let’s deemphasize any tendency that divides and promote only those that unites us.But we must stand up and unite against dictatorship or anything that represent it, we must unanimously agree to stand against any form of maladministration and push for a credible alternative that guarantees healthier and productive leadership at all levels of governance.
Great family, as members of this great assemblage, we must carry the TDASI spirit of oneness, preach it everywhere we go.We must represent and publicly seen to represent the new Nigeria of our dreams. From the North to the south, east to west, if we all consistently preach peace and love, with the passage of time, we will positively infect every part of our country with our nationalistic spirits, which are all we need to save our dear country.
Let me sincerely thank the Deputy National President, Hon Nasir Mohammed, National Secretary, Mrs Oluseyi Kadiri, National women leader, Hajia Aisha Mohammed Barup, National youth leader George Jacobs, National organizing Secretary, Mrs Ladi Aliyu-Okojie , their deputies and the entire National leadership for believing in TDASI.
To our 6 Vice Presidents, Alhaji Alhassan Boss( NW), Sir Akinwumi Akinfenwa( SW) , Hon Chukwudi Okwukogu Ezinmuo( SE) ,Mrs Christy Dakup (NC), Alhaji Saidu Umar ( NE) and Lady Marilyn Dan Jumbo ( SS), you represent the 6 strong legs of TDASI that are formidably rooted in all the zones. We thank you for providing great pillars of hope and supports.
To our state directors, in describing your enormous contributions towards the building of a world class, grass rooted , political support initiative , words might not be enough , so we say thank you for your invaluable supports and sacrifices .
To our members, off course you all know that, without you, there wont be TDASI or her leadership at all levels of Administration , we thank you for your supports, even as we are appealing for your stronger mind presence and support to enable us achieve organisational goals.
Great family, let’s save Nigeria together, as we are STRONGER together. Thank you all and God bless.
