At our Amputee Awareness Day 2026 in collaboration with & Orthotics Ltd & , the MD/CEO of Sun-Tech Prosthetics and Orthotics Ltd delivered a powerful message on resilience, dignity, and possibility for amputees.

He challenged amputees to reject stigma, intimidation, and self-pity, emphasizing that life should never be defined by physical loss alone.

According to him, true strength comes from knowledge, mindset, determination, and the refusal to surrender to society’s limitations.

He also gave a free prosthetic limb to one of the attendees, which will boost her mobility and productivity.

This was triggered because he understood the intensive cost of prosthetic limbs.

The message throughout the event remained clear: There's Ability goes beyond the limb loss or limb difference

Hope Alive for Possibilities Initiative (HAPI), was represented by our Communication Officer, Chukwunyere Kelsey Nwosu at a 2-day workshop on Digital Accessibility, Advocacy Strategies, and Digital Accessibility Audits organized by Centre for Inclusive Development(CID) in Abuja.

The workshop, supported by the Disability Rights Fund, brought together Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and advocates to strengthen capacity on building more inclusive digital systems for persons with disabilities in Nigeria.

The sessions provided practical insights on:
• Digital accessibility and inclusive communication
• Advocacy strategies for systemic change
• Conducting digital accessibility audits on websites and digital platforms
• Addressing barriers persons with disabilities face when navigating digital spaces

At HAPI, we recognize that digital inclusion is not optional — it is a rights issue. As more services, opportunities, and information move online, ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities must remain a priority.

At HAPI, we believe digital inclusion is a rights issue, and accessible digital platforms are essential for equal participation, information access, and social inclusion for persons with disabilities.

We appreciate CID and DRF for creating this important platform for learning, collaboration, and advancing accessibility in Nigeria’s digital space.

From Awareness to Action — We Showed Up.

On the 30th April, Hope Alive for Possibilities Initiative (HAPI), in collaboration with Sun-Tech Prosthetics & Orthotics Ltd and Amputee Coalition of Nigeria, successfully hosted the Amputee Awareness Event that mark 2026 Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month in Abuja.

And it was more than just an event.

It was:
• Real conversations about mental health after amputation
• Honest lived experiences that challenged stigma
• Direct prosthetic consultations and repairs
• The official launch of an Amputee Peer Support Network
• A powerful reminder that ability goes beyond the limb

Participants didn’t just attend — they connected, learned, and found community.

Because the truth is simple: Limb loss changes lives, but it should never limit opportunities.

At HAPI, we are not just raising awareness. We are building systems of support, inclusion, and dignity.

This is what inclusion looks like — practical, human, and intentional.
