🌿 Sunday Is for Rest And So Is Soil 🌿

Just as many of us take Sundays to slow down, reflect, and recharge, soil also needs rest to recover its strength and productivity.

In agriculture, this rest can come in different forms:

🛌 Fallowing – Letting the land lie idle without planting for a season or more. It gives the soil time to naturally rebuild nutrients and restore microbial life.

🌾 Cover Cropping – Instead of leaving the land bare, farmers plant special crops like legumes or rye that protect the soil, suppress weeds, add organic matter, and even fix nitrogen.

Think of fallowing as deep rest, and cover cropping as active recovery , like choosing between sleep and gentle yoga. Either way, the goal is the same: a healthier, more resilient soil ready to support life again.

So next time you're enjoying your Sunday rest, remember: even the soil deserves a break.
