Akinlade Congratulates Yayi as Ogun APC’s 2027 Flagbearer

Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, fondly known as Triple A, has extended warm congratulations to Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial flagbearer for the 2027 general election in Ogun State. He described the moment as both historic and deeply symbolic, noting that it represents a long-awaited opportunity for Ogun West to produce a governor fifty years after the state’s creation.

Triple A, as he is fondly called, also commended the leadership of the APC for demonstrating unity, foresight, and discipline throughout the process, while appreciating Governor Dapo Abiodun for fostering a peaceful and inclusive path to consensus. He noted that the Governor’s statesmanship has once again reinforced the party’s ability to rise above division in pursuit of shared progress and purpose.

He further paid tribute to elder statesmen and former governors Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba, Senator Gbenga Daniel, and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, whose consistent advocacy and principled commitment over the years sustained the Ogun West governorship aspiration, describing the moment as a fitting reward for their perseverance and sacrifices.

Recalling the broader journey, Akinlade acknowledged the contributions of past gubernatorial candidates from Ogun West, including General Adetunji Olurin, Senator Akin Odunsi, and Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, as well as his own 2019 candidacy under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). He noted that their collective efforts, rooted in grassroots engagement and a firm belief in equity, helped lay the foundation for the present achievement.

In his words, Akinlade said, “As we move forward, I reaffirm my unwavering loyalty to the APC and call on all party members and stakeholders to set aside our differences and unite behind Senator Yayi in the spirit of unity and progress. The task ahead demands discipline, cohesion, and a shared vision to secure victory in the 2027 general election. I am confident that this historic opportunity will usher in a new era of inclusive and people-driven governance in Ogun State.”

Akinlade/Ogundele Group Declares Support for Tinubu and Abiodun Ahead of 2027 Elections

A political group led by former Ogun State governorship candidate, Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade, has announced its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing the decision as a democratic choice based on performance, party loyalty and continuity. *The statement was presented by Hon. Abdulmajid Ekelojumati, a party chieftain from Ogun East.*

In a statement signed by Akinlade and other leaders of the Akinlade/Ogundele Political Group, the group said its endorsement followed a review of the Tinubu administration, noting that the president’s “bold economic reforms, strong focus on infrastructure, introduction of the student loan scheme” and expanded social welfare programmes reflect “clear leadership and genuine commitment to national progress.”

The group also commended Governor Abiodun’s record in Ogun State, saying his administration has delivered visible developmental results, including improved road networks, better healthcare services and stronger inter-local government connections. It further cited the construction of a “world-class airport that is redefining Ogun State’s economic standing” as a major milestone.

Speaking about the 2027 representation, the group expressed support for Governor Abiodun’s interest in the Ogun East senatorial seat, arguing that “it is not only fair, but proper for a performing, committed and loyal sitting governor to have the first right of refusal in terms of the senatorial ticket.” It described Abiodun as a loyal party man whose service to the APC has been consistent.

Furthermore, citing his role as Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, the group said Abiodun’s experience and political reach would be valuable in the National Assembly. It added that “his ability to deliver where others fail is an indication of the values he will bring to the Nigerian Senate,” particularly in promoting unity and effective legislation.

The group reaffirmed its respect for the All Progressives Congress and the Ogun State government, pledging to mobilise supporters across the state during party primaries and the general election. It said it remains confident of victory in 2027, stressing its commitment to consolidating what it called the gains of progressive governance under the APC’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

APC ... RENEWED HOPE ... PROGRESS ... VICTORY!.

REALIGNMENT CONTINUES…

Yesterday marked yet another seamless phase in the ongoing political realignment in Ijebu North, as the spirit of unity and progress filled the air while APM/PDP leaders deepened consultations with APC stakeholders across both constituencies.

From a warm reception by the NURTW State Chairman, Alh. Comrade Ismail Mustapha (YARO) in Ago Iwoye, to a heartfelt reunion with Otunba Olaide Emiola Oshifeso, former and serving councillors, and party leaders in Ward 5, Oke Agbo, it was homecoming at it's finest.

We had deep and purposeful engagements with Hon. Commissioner for Community Development, Alh. Ademola Abdrafiu Balogun (KLASS), and our brother, Hon. Murphy Adesegun of TESCOM at TownEnds Hotel.

It was seamless, fruitful, and hopeful all through. Alhamdulilah.

APC .... RENEWED HOPE

Ogundele and Akinlade Urge Stakeholders to Align with APC Grassroots Leadership Ahead of Formal Declaration

Abeokuta, Ogun State – Azeez Adelani

In a significant political shift in Ogun State, former council chairman and ex-PDP chieftain, Hon. Dr. Sikirulai Ogundele has called on his loyalists to stay united and fully align with local leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as preparations intensify for their formal defection to the ruling party.

Speaking at a high-level stakeholders' meeting held in Abeokuta on Tuesday, Ogundele emphasized the need for loyalty, grassroots integration, and a decisive move forward. He described their earlier meeting with Governor Dapo Abiodun as warm and reassuring, praising the governor for his open-mindedness and leadership.

“We must not allow distractions from naysayers who want to derail this movement, let us align fully with the APC, remain accommodating, and work together at all levels. When the rhythm of the drum changes, we must also change our dance steps. This is the time to move forward and ensure our people are not left behind.” Ogundele said.

He stressed that their longstanding loyalty to the opposition had reached its limits and that it was time to embrace a new political direction. “We’ve shown enough patience and goodwill. Now, we must act decisively and embrace this opportunity,” he added.

Backing Ogundele’s call, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, popularly known as Triple A, echoed the need for discipline and collective responsibility. He commended Governor Abiodun for treating the incoming stakeholders with dignity and pledged that their integration into the APC would be seamless.

“Governor Abiodun treated us with respect and promised even more inclusion and support. It’s now our turn to act with transparency, dedication, and unity. The date of our formal declaration has been fixed. I urge everyone to mobilize and attend. We are not strangers. We are just returning home, " Akinlade stated.

Also addressing the gathering, Dr. Abdulmajeed Ekelojumati urged members to stay focused on the broader goal. He cautioned against creating parallel structures and encouraged loyalty to the APC's values.

“Let us remain committed, avoid divisions, and promote tolerance and mutual respect,” Ekelojumati said. He added that, “that is the only way to ensure sustainable integration and collective progress.”
Other leaders of the group who spoke at the meeting expressed optimism about the leadership style of the duo.

Stakeholders remain hopeful that the move will lead to greater inclusion, recognition, and participation in the governance of the state as political realignments take shape in Ogun State.
